    He speaks alot of sense.

Its in the promoters interest to make them and their sponsors money. Then pay the fighters.

The commission is the body that should be controlling the drug tests, yet the universal boxing tests are so weak that alot of fighters are losing faith and requesting their own.

Obviously, you cant force someone to do something which is not a requirement, and fighters can refuse extra testing (May-Pac) which leads to breakdowns of fights.

Roiding has advanced, and it is in the interest of the commissions to keep their fighters safe and weed out the cheats.

The promoters job is to match fighters up and do the promotion. The commissions job is to enforce the rules. What he is saying stops the possibility of situations like what happened with Morales from happening.

VADA should be up to the fighters hence the word voluntary. USADA needs to up it's testing programme as it light years behind the likes of cycling and distance itself from Golden Boy

Yeah, 'cause they do such a great job regulating cycling!

They should just make all drugs legal & be done with it.

USADA don't regulate it UCI do and they do a decent with the biological passports. Doping is rarely seen nowadays in cycling and those who are caught get serious bans

NSAC still has the best cost effective tests..

They test a gazillion MMA and boxers..

VADA, USADA all just want to get a piece of the pie..

and taxpayer money will not be used to test every single fighter like VADA or USADA.

There will be a way to negotiate something more cost effective though with more advanced testing.

Sponsors would love having their name attached to a movement that will generate great press.

What is puzzling for me is that, these commisions can adapt these advanced testing unto their SOP. They have government funding if needed as well. They can also recruit experts if they want to.

    Why not up until now?

I think its people just putting their head in the sand about the issue.

No one can be bothered to move on the issue as there is not enough (and never will be) outcry about everything.

Maybe they even make money on the current testing they use.

Shaefer is absolutely right. I have said this in all the threads of ONEPUNCHKO and other tards bitching about USADA. Its pretty sad that the state commissions haven't started doing random "pre fight" test of some sort yet. Even if its just 2 urine test its better than what they currently do.

The whole blood thing never gonna happen. Way too expensive and dangerous. Extra urine tests are a good way to go. The problem is the training period and schedule to fight. only STARS have these long training camps, then you have last minute replacements, the journeyman who fights every month or more... So who do you choose to test with fifteen belts per division and no clear top ten or twenty in a division due to politics. Then we got fifty damn promoters who won't let the best fight the best. Self proclaimed boxing promoters. So who does the testing? The commission? the sanctioning body? the promoter? or the fighter themself?

The main problem is that you don't have one governing body in place for boxing. For example if a fighter from Philly is facing a fighter from Florida and the guy from Philly trains in Philly but the fight is in Florida then what do you do. Does the Commission from Florida and Penn work together and have the guys come in and take pre fight urine test two times at random and then how do you pay for it?

The commissions need to step up and change how they do things. Lets be honest. Post fight drug test is like putting on your seatbelt after you have a car wreck. They should be testing pre fight anyways and why they don't is a ****ing disgrace.

As much as people hate change and especially this idea, this is why boxing needs a format similar to the UFC.

    This will never happen though

No it want happen. I think fighters in general are going to have to be the ones to take a stand.

One start to changing things is very simple. Just start doing the ****ing urine test pre fight in all states and make that test random.

It's really up to the fighters to initiate it themselves.

Top 50 Licensed fighters should be subject to random yearly blood and urine drug testing.

More so for the Top 25.
