Schaefer Responds to Arum's Investors/Gym Meeting Claims "yesterday he was lying..."

I guess you really don't understand what the roles of an advisor and a promoter are. It's in the best interest of the fighter that his manager and promoter operate as separate entities. Koncz works for Pacquiao, he is supposed to be separate from Top Rank. With that being said, it's curious that he's taking such a request from Arum. The only person that should be directing an advisor to make any sort of deal, should be the fighter himself, not the promoter.

 

WHy do you keep including Ellerbe and Haymon w/ GBP there? You know as well as I do Ellerbe and Haymon have ties w/ Floyd that have NOTHING to do with GBP. So, whatever the **** you think I am saying, I am not, because IF this fight is ever made, you can bet your ass Ellerbe and Haymon WILL be involved, since Floyd has stated time and time again, they are his team.

GBP has no legal ANYTHING to Floyd w/o a contract expressing it. So stop beng so damn obtuse. atsch

Arum clearly favours the Marquez 4 bout over the Mayweather bout.

 

Simple question. What does GB do for Floyd that can't be replicated. The fight has been promoted by ESPN more than anything as they reach more casual fans with all the nonsense that has been going on between the two camps since the winter of 09.

I'm sure May has people to assure things are on the up and up when it comes time to get probably upwards of 100 million if certain parties aren't involved. Don't quote me on that I'm just painting a picture.

 

Because Arum claimed that Mayweather is trying to negotiate this fight without Ellerbe, Haymon, and GBP. That's why. According to Arum, Mayweather is exploring this fight without the involvement of any of those parties. I'm not sure how else to explain it.

 

People are letting this part go over their heads. I'd figure Arum would cover his tracks better for what he is trying to do.

I never said this at all. However, the promoter should not be making any sort of request to a manager in regards to negotiating a fight. If Koncz decided to do it on his own, or if Pacquiao requested him to do so, that's fine. However, he should not be taking any requests for Arum in regards to negotiating a fight, or even having talks with a potential opponent.

 

Apparently all he did was sent him to talk to him. And that means to you, Arum EMPOYED Koncz to fully negotiate the fight w/ Floyd leaving out all his people.
