I think Schaefer is gone and will have to settle for whatever leniency Oscar gives. Floyd isn't selling as many PPVs and Showtime doesn't have enough capacity to get GBP fighters noticed. Oscar could probably fine Schaefer but will let him go and Schaefer may have to sit on the sidelines for a period of time.

You're beyond naive if you think Shaffer is just going to watch from the 'sidelines'.

Its called non-compete clause. Amongst other various rules, laws and precedents that can make it very tricky for top execs to bail to a competitor.

You wondering why Oscar saying things are fine and he wants Schaefer to stay? Its because Schaefer breaking contract and leaving on his own accord makes things much more difficult for him than if Oscar fired him.

GBP ain't **** without Shaffer. Besides, it's not a good look when you have a panty wearing coke head running the company

He doesn't have to run the company. He just has to hire someone else to. He's the owner, not the CEO.

Wouldnt all these fights be signed up to contracts with golden bioy and not one particular guy.

Surely Oscar has all the cards here?

He has no choice, he has a non-compete clause in his contact; makes me think there was some funny business going on by Schaefer. JMO

No, in the main event lawsuit there was something there mentioning Al Hoymon having an exit clause on the contracts with the promoter.

That was an Examiner-level article. It's nice to hear though that Oscar really wants to throw a life preserver to a drowning company.

Oscer can try all he wants but he's not going to find anyone as competent as Dick.

I can't believe that some are even Schaefer's dick riders. Coincidentally, most of them are Mayweather fan boys. They only like GBP in-house fights and don't like great co-promotion cards between GBP and TR.

Hoya didn't want to make fights like Alvarez-Lara one of the biggest fights this year and Arum didn't want to make Mayweather-Hoya the highest grossing fight off all-time

It's said GBP a lot fighters aren't even signed to GBP so if all of Haymon's fighters split we'd be in a worse place for the sport than were already are now.

Inversely with top TR fighters like Chavez and Garcia putting you on game with TR's shady ways if Pacquiao would have become a free agent we'd have been closer to having all the top fighters being able to fight each other.

People look at it like picking sides its about what logically would be better for boxing and there's a good chance that this ends up being bad hopefully not.

A genuine question what scenario is worse GB splitting up & Schaffer deciding to move fighters basically creating another league or GBP signing the top TR fighters making one major unified stable like UFC.

Oh Top Rank cares about co-promotion? I had no idea when they were demanding Mosley, Marquez, and Mayweather leave Golden Boy to get a shot at Pacquiao. I guess when Arum was busy dismissing JMM as "unqualified" to fight Manny, he meant that Marquez hadn't defeated anyone as impressive as Likar Ramos. It was a purely meritocratic claim.
