Schafer "Mayweather open to fighting Khan after Pacquiao"

    GOLDEN BOY chief Richard Schaefer believes Amir Khan is destined to face Floyd Mayweather.

    Khan, 24, puts his WBA light-welterweight title on the line against IBF boss Zab Judah in Las Vegas on July 23.
    But he has made no secret of his desire to step up to welterweight and Schaefer has mapped out a path for the Bolton fighter which also includes bouts with Erik Morales and Kell Brook.
    Schaefer said: "We believe in Khan and believe he is ready. These are big plans but Team Khan are on board.

    "I've had conversations with Mayweather and his adviser Al Haymon and they are definitely open to a fight with Khan."
    Mayweather, who is scheduled to meet Victor Ortiz in September, has told Schaefer he wants to deliver the fight boxing fans crave by agreeing to face Manny Pacquiao.
    Schaefer added: "Mayweather has indicated he would like to do the Pacquiao fight.
    "He said to me he'd be open to fighting Pacquiao next if the blood testing issue can be sorted out.
    "Khanwould then fight in autumn 2012 against Mayweather. I spent the last week with Mayweather and he said he wants to fight more than once per year.
    "Whether he delivers on that promise, I don't know, but I really believe he does want to fight several times a year.
    "He's mentioned to me the possibility of fighting in December again
    "Mayweather has rediscovered his love for boxing and is ready to go. He's hungry again."

    september fight with ortiz and then 3 months later a fight again in december? who will be this another GBP in-house fighter would floyd fight next after ortiz? also if pac fight is next year and khan is at fall, would he give pac ample time from his november fight with jmm?

    If Mayweather and Pac win, they can fight eachother next May. That's plenty of time.

    yeah i think it's good time especially if another december tune-up for floyd happens. come to think of it, roger's words are actually in jive with schaefer when he said that it would be crazy if floyd would take on pacquiao next after ortiz.

    so the question is, who would this other GBP in house tune-up that schaefer is saying?

    these tards have a hard time understanding that may would be a target date in 2012 for pac/floyd

    i keep hearing guys say "he signed to fight ortiz when manny had the jmm fight ready to go...because hes ducking pac"....lolol....try understanding that it sets up a perfect time in may 2012....clowns....a khan fight would be at the end of 2012 at best....but when floyd whoops manny i think he should retire

    Floyd wants Pacquiao after Ortiz so get that december crap out of yall head. It looks like the may vs pac fight is a go if Top Rank can stop ***** footing around.

    I don't care what Mayweather says, that is not a tuneup bout. He claimed Marquez bout was tuneup as well. Did you see that fight as a tuneup bout?

    Ok Floyd said he deserves a tune up bout. That doesnt mean Ortiz is a tune up fighter. He is the champ and is a dangerous opponent. Ask Andre Berto!!!!

    I am glad you are taking Mayweather for his word now a days. Im sure you heard him say Pacquiao is next too right?
