 floyd is on his ortiz conference so naturally he would be answering all those who are heckling him to fight pacquiao and it's about time. pac would soon be answering those questions when his fight with jmm nears and that is the time when floyd goes into vacation mode once more.

well schaefer said, floyd mentioned to him the possibility of him (floyd) fighting again in december.

floyd was coming from retirement and vacation, both times. so that's why people and floyd himself called it a tune-up. ortiz is a welter champion now, but is not much proven at welter as the other welterweights or even compared to floyd. also the disparity in skill and accomplishment made this some sort of a tune-up fight for floyd as he mentioned.

That's what I was thinking. Too many ifs, and's and maybe's in the process.

ortiz would be dangerous only to someone on the level of berto. against floyd, he would not be as dangerous as advertised. look at his fight against peterson. people are actually giving ortiz a chance because they think floyd's inactivity might have a big effect on him but otherwise, the floyd that fought mosley would beat ortiz almost certainly. ortiz is nothing more than floyd taking the rust off coming from vacation.

You didn't answer my question. Did you consider the Marquez fight to be a tuneup? It's a simple yes or no question.

This is why I say that Manny has the worst fans possible!:-(

All common sense is thrown out the window dealing with some of these clowns.

at that time no. but floyd fans brings this excuse so floyd won't be criticized much for taking on someone that is naturally smaller in jmm. his fans always say that it's jmm is not a bad a tune-up fight for floyd coming from retirement. also it was used as selling point for floyd actually preparing to fight pacquiao by taking on his rival.

That's all I needed to know. You didn't consider Marquez to be a tuneup fight. Now let's clear this up. Do you personally consider Ortiz to be a tuneup fight? Simple yes or no question.

i'm more inclined to believe that he is since ortiz is actually not a great a fighter as jmm is. ortiz is a perfect tune-up in the sense of the word, floyd's comeback fight after a vacation, making this fight look as if he is preparing for a pacquiao fight by fighting a leftie, and ortiz being a somewhat a safe fight for floyd over-all. so yes personally, i will consider this more as a tune-up fight for floyd more than a battle for welter supremacy.

So just that we're clear here, Floyd fighting Marquez at WW was not a tuneup bout in your opinion, but Floyd fighting Ortiz is a tuneup bout in your opinion. Correct?

    I speak fluent *******.

What Pugi means is. Because Floyd is fighting Ortiz its a tuneup. Manny is fighting basically the same Marquez Floyd beat, so its not a tuneup.

If Pacquiao were fighting Ortiz it would be a great fight.

i was actually giving jmm more of a chance then before the fight but floyd not making the agreed catchweight ruined it for me. for this fight, ortiz, i don't give him much of a chance against floyd.

so why are you much concerned if people see this as tune-up fights? floyd called this one a tune-up fight. he is coming from vacation, he needs a lesser fight (compared to the one people wants him to take) to take of the rust. and he might be taking another one this coming december according to schaefer.
