ortiz was ranked #2 or #3 defends if you would consider floyd active. but this goes to show how weak the division is now when you can rank berto at #4. at the time when welter was waxing hot back in 2007-2008 and some part of 2009, you can barely rank ortiz at top5 with a win over berto.

now mosley was ranked #3 when pac fought him, does it mean jack ****? now if you are pulling mosley because of his performance against floyd and mora, ortiz has draw against peterson and was knocked down twice by berto who by himself did not have a spectacular resume at welter.

 

I'm going to ask you the question again. Hopefully you will decide to answer it this time. Who do you personally, not Ring magazine or any other publication, but who you personally rank ahead of Ortiz at WW besides Mayweather or Pacquiao?

i already answered you, it would be pacquiao only since mayweather himself is inactive and it's because welter is a weak division now aside from pac and floyd.

ortiz' high ranking doesn't matter though, i still see it as a tune-up, the same way floyd sees it. also i ranked mosley #3 at welter personally when pac fought him and i see it as some sort of tune-up for pac even though he fights regularly.

i see ortiz being undermatched against floyd so i consider it as just a tune-up. floyd considers it also his tune-up for whatever reason.

 

pacquiao and martinez at 154/160 would be 100x more credible than a fight with ortiz. look i'm not saying this is a bad fight for floyd to take. it's actually a good one coming back from a long period of activity. it's just that i view it as a tune-up that BigReg is up in arms when even floyd himself sees ortiz as a tune-up.
