Maidana already said he'd rather not fight a fellow countryman. He said there are alot of fighters out there to fight and it doesnt make sense for him to fight another Argentinian. He said he would fight if the opportunity presented itself but he'd rather not.

 

Awesome fight. I really hope it happens. It seems like a very natural fight to make and I bet the Argentinians would love to see it too.

Would be a amazing fight, I think Matthysse is the more skilled fighter, and the more powerful puncher. I know Maidana holds 3 amateur victories over Lucas, but I think Matthysse has evolved as a fighter well past Marcos. I would have to go with Lucas by late round stoppage, in a great fight!
