Holyfield certainly wins, in a fairly competitive decision. The best Schmeling success will come with counter-punching off Holyfield’s aggression, but he’ll struggle to make an impact whenever Holyfield boxes. It’s the kind of fight I think will convince Holyfield to box more & war less, as Schmeling isn’t quite powerful or aggressive enough to challenge Holyfield’s ego & compel him into putting himself in a stupid amount of danger. Schmeling can’t KO him, anyway, but he will find a decent degree of success countering & positioning Holyfield where he wants him, at times. 7-5 or maybe 7-4-1 Holyfield.
