Artur Beterbiev v Dmitry Bivol I and II arent a bad place to start, very recent though

 

Usyk deserves all the accolades. No taking needless fights. Virtually no fat on his record. Justice was done in beating Joshua and Fury who - whatever the reason - kept avoiding one another.

Naoya Inoue is set to have a great 12 months. The explosive, undisputed champ at super-bantamweight intends to fight countryman - and fellow pound-for-pounder - Junto Nakatani. Featherweight will follow, and perhaps the most significant waves made below middleweight since Manny Pacquiao.

Beterbiev and Bivol I and II were decent though lukewarm affairs. The Russians somewhat cancelled each other out. Great for purists, not so high on drama. A third fight feels unnecessary. Beterbiev is getting on.

Other than that there is a whole lot more posturing than fighting going on. Fighters who can, and do, abuse their positions. We live in an era when self-promotion - be it videos of smacking pads quickly ala Ryan Garcia - counts for more than actual fighting ability. Loads of guys are getting too much money too early and so never develop...that's a long list. Middleweight remains a cesspool. Crawford-Canelo has it all to prove. Commentators have gotten noiser. Every title fight may be dubbed 'chasing history'. Turki, for now, is a positive influence.

6. Ford--Kholmatov (especially this)

 

Inoue v Nery was also a great fight too w some drama both beforehand and throughout. It was also only the 2nd time we've seen Inoue be human (Donaire 1 being the other time).

Boxing has been in bad shape for a few years now. Usyk and Inoue have dominated and thats been awesome but the other stars have aged out or just sucked:

AJ is done
Fury is done
Wilder is well done
Canelo is almost done
Tank is almost done
Loma is done/almost done
Crawford is almost done
Spence is well done
Thurman is done
Danny Garcia and Porter retired
Mikey Garcia retired
Beterbiev is almost done/done
Charlo bros are well done

Its been a disappointing change of the guard in my opinion

Tank has NEVER been must-see fighting. Not once.

 

It's lunacy to think Tank hasn't had a bunch of good fights and that's why he's a big box office draw. @Jaymz8604 Don't listen to this guy. Check out the Tank fights.

Those are the 'mega' high skilled fights that come to mind.

Crawford vs Spence finally happened
Bivol vs Canelo, Beterbiev 1 and Beterbiev 2
Anthony Joshua lost 4 times and all are worth watching: Ruiz 1, Usyk 1 and 2, Dubois
Teofimo Lopez is controversial but has been in some good fights: Lomachenko, Kambosos, Josh Taylor
Canelo vs Kovalev, Bivol, Saunders are his main ones worth watching
Gervonta Davis never really took off but imo Barrios and Ryan Garcia are worth watching
And just last weekend, Eubank Jr vs Benn was a surprisingly good fight

 

Did you stop watching after Fury got robbed in 2018? If so welcome back we are all children of Fury and there is hope for us all

 

Personally think it's bit hard putting Ennis teo and shakur in there they seem to just be getting started

 

All you need to know is boxing is dead and it's the fans who killed it

 

Horrible take. + Guess what, he's the only one of the bunch that also realises it's a sport. Working the ref, is experience. Not that the ref even helped him with 20 other Dubois lowblows by that point. Was enough to wobble both AJ and Fury. Hmm
