Besides Arguello and Cervantes, who else is a notable Pryor victim?

Aggressive 140 lb. fighter with terrific stamina and workrate. Good recovery powers too, as he had a tendency to take early spills to the canvas and then would come back stronger.

He had that strange herky-jerky style which could make it hard for opponents to tag him, despite his tendency to leave himself wide open. He was fast and could pop, and often overwhelmed opponents with this.

He was a drug addict and this hurt his career, but he was a hell of an 140 lb. fighter at his best.

You'll be misinformed then. This show is filled with myths and exaggerations.

Leonard offered Pryor a career high payday. Pryor wanted more money.

Pryor was offered a fight with Duran after No Mas. Pryor had managerial issues that screwed up the fight.

Pryor was also offered a unification bout at 140 against Mamby. Pryor ended up getting shot by his wife, and then his manager got arrested for embezzlement.

You can argue that Leonard "low-balled" him with an offer of $500k. It wasn't outrageous though given how much Pryor was making before that, and how much other guys were making for fighting Ray.

Ray was the star and called the shots, and demanded the bulk of the purse.

He loses to all of them. He has the best chance against Duran.

Pryor originally started out as a lightweight, and wasn't even a big junior welterweight.

Hearns, who lost to Pryor as an amateur, learned to get leverage into his shots and become a monster puncher. He was a different fighter as an amateur, but as a pro, he was one of the hardest hitting WWs ever. It'd be an ugly night for Pryor. This is a horrible matchup for him.

Pryor would have mild success in spots against Leonard but I don't like his chances at all.

Pryor turning down the offer to fight Leonard was a smart business move on his side.

Pryor has the best chance against Duran due to styles and the point in his career that Duran was at when the fight was in the making. It would've been a real tough challenge regardless for Pryor. The fight was proposed at a catchweight of 150, so Pryor would've had to fight at a limit 10 lbs. above his usual.

I think Pryor was a beast H2H at 140, but above 140 against those great fighters? Tough to pick him over them.

pryor's work rate and weird angles really set him apart, for a time I'm pretty sure he had the highest KO ratio of any 140 lb champion ever. Really fast hands, great headmovement. His unorthodoxy reminds me of Pac in some ways, being a short guy with power and speed who attacks from weird angles, but instead of all the in and out of Pac he uses I think more slick headmovement. I was REALLY REALLY impressed with him What a great era in boxing!!!!!!! WOW! In his sole loss, which was after the drugs, he was still outclassing that guy up until the stoppage, he was one of a kind. Beat Hearns in the ams but I don't know about him doing too well against any of the beastly beastly 147 lbers, the best of any time.
What a great time period!!!! The golden age of boxing, Hagler, Hearns, Leonard, Pryor, Duran, Arguello, Benitez. Benitez in any other period would have been a dominant champion, as it was he had to take third string and beatings.

Pacquiao vs. Pryor at 140 would be a great, violent fight.

Same with The Hawk against Chavez & Duran for that matter.

He's a good friend and old sparring partner of my coach, Terry O'Brien.

Post boxing, Pryor is still a Cincinnatian.

He had some big problems with drugs but is now an

I've heard he opened a gym in town, and I think its the Queen City Boxing Club. I've never been there because its in the absolute WORST part of town.

You might see him on ESPN if you can catch a Adrien Broner or Aaron Pryor Jr. fight. He is usually ringside or in the corner.
