Bobby Chacon was one of the most exciting fighters ever and one of the most popular fighters of his era ,a blood and guts warrior with a good punch and a big heart who could also box when he chose to was never in a bad fight won titles in two divisions managed to beat quality skilled fighters like Frankie Crawford,Chucho Castillo and Bozza Edwards and big punchers such as Danny Lopez,Rafael Limon and Ruben Olivares, his main weaknesses was that he was easy to hit, could easily be drawn into shootouts which accounted for some of his KO losses, had a wild life style that conflicted with his boxing career at times, also had a problem with cuts which cost him in his fight with the great Alexis Arguello being stopped due to cuts at a time where he was leading on the cards(Arguello was starting to coming on it has to be said). His multi fight series with Olivares,Limon and Edwards are a must watch for anyone who's getting into Chacon specially his last fight with Limon and his second fight with Edwards both are among the best fights ever and amongst the bravest performances from a fighter i have ever seen specially when you take into account the drama that went on in his personal life with his wife's committing suicide(she wanted him to retire) some months prior to those two wars, You should also check his wars with Arturo Frias and Danny Lopez, basically you cant go wrong with any Chacon fight but those i mentioned where the best in terms of action. Really a fighter worth checking out specially if you like action and drama.
Co-sign on Bladerunner's comments, and he's my second favorite fighter. Thrill a minute with Chacon. The fourth fight with Limon was more than a great fight; it was a triumph of the human spirit. It was THAT good. To watch him, he seems clumsy at times, throwing lead rights while leading with his chin, falling off balance, but he relied on natural gifts to get by. Watched closely, he'd often stick his chin out there and sucker you in and tag you, even if it meant putting himself in harm's way. Sadly, he suffers now for his bravery in the past.

He was a fan favorite and damn good fighter with above average skills... I love Chacon.... MR.BILLbbb:rasta
Bobby 'Schoolboy' Chacon A 126 lb. 'Warrior' - who was riding a 'high wave', until Ruben Olivares burst his bubble. Bounced back with a couple of wins, including a 'brutal battle' with Danny 'Little Red' Lopez, a fight that nearly ruined both fighters. Then the #1 WBC-ranked Featherweight, tore apart a pretty good 126 lb. Champion in Alfredo Marcano to win the WBC Featherweight Championship. That's just a start.
He's primarily remembered as a crazy, reckless brawler, but he was one hell of a slick boxer puncher when he put his mind to it. Pretty much all of his losses could have been prevented if he'd had the discipline of someone like Mayweather or Hopkins when it came to training. If I'm not mistaken he avenged all of his defeats except the Arguello and Mancini losses. Keep in mind Chacon was ahead on points against Arguello before losing on cuts. And he was just too burnt out to manage anything against Mancini at that point.
Just watch his 4th fight against Bazooka Limon and his 2nd against Boza-Edwards, they tells you all you need to know about this guy... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2yegmQ2fGs[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHQOLZhOXyg[/ame]
