Exactly, I'm sure noone thought Erdei was the top dog after Tarver had twice (imo) beaten johnson and jones.

 

And Tarver gets no credit for being the man at lt heavy ..Better yet if you goto cyberboxing zone they don't even list him as the light heavt weight champ ..Last list I saw went like this :

No mention of Tarver .. After Jones moved to Heavy Tarver became the man in the division ..No one was saying well he never beat a lineal champ

Around that time I think either Gonzales or Erodi were the lineal champs ..I mean really

 

CBZ is absolutely riddled with errors even amongst their own lineages.

Yup know the site well .. They actually did a great job tracking down the true lineage

 

Jones was not stripped he vacated his WBC belt because he wanted
to move up, then Roggiciani won it, Jones finally decided to stay at
LHW, he enforced stripping Rogicciani and took the WBC belt back.

So I don't blame Jones for winning vacated WBC belt, it was rightful
the same as it was rightful for Maske and Hill to fight for a vacated lineage.

But it in the end the titles which Jones had was: WBC (stripped from Rogicciani
who won it rightfully in the ring), WBA and IBF stripped from
DM who won them rightfully from Hill.

 

He didn't enforece it, Graz had the choice of fighting him and preferred to take it to court. Nowadays the WBC have an emeritus status.

Belts are just a way of telling the world you think you're the best in the division. We can all watch the majority of fights from the divison in the 90's whenever we choose. We can make our own mind up as to who the better fighter was.

we are talking about the RIGHT STATUS of the division.

YEs we are watching all the majority fights in 90's but lets assume
that at HW none of Tyson, Holy, Lewis, Bowe fought eachother
they just stick to their belts and defend them ...
would you ask the same question who was better?

On PAPER probably Tyson would ever be considered as the best,
Holy as a blown up untested Cruiser, Bowe would be undefeated
to these days, Lewis would never be known outside Canada.

tyson, holy, lewis all did fight each other though.

It's like Dempsey and Wills. when two guys are at the top of the division for that long, if they don't fight each other then it's guesswork as to who is the better fighter, my guess is the lhw and p4p number 1, jones jr.
