I haven't been keeping up alot with prospects recently, but apparently Daniel Jacobs losing was a big shock to some. What was the story with that? All I know was the he was with Golden Boy, and they do happen to have a curse. Fill me in.
Well, Gil Clancy said that Jacobs may have been the best amateur he'd ever seen in all his years in boxing
They matched him against a tough mother ****er who essentially walked him down and sparked him with a single shot. Jacobs was a celebrated amateur who hasn't really done much as a pro. Watch Oscar's face when he gets knocked down. I'm a huge Oscar fan but that **** was funny!
He stepped in with the Russian pie and got sparked! Stage was set for Jacob to win this fight. Judges and ref were all ore briefed. Someone upset the apple cart.
Might do him the world of good! It seems Pirog was a bit of an unknown most of the guys fights have been behind the iron curtain!
I didn't see Oscar's face when it happened, but that was a damn brutal knockdown. Props to the other guy, whoever is the match maker for prospects at GoldenBoy should be fired. Ortiz's career doesn't seem like it will recover anytime soon, and now this Jacobs fellow has to get over a bad knockout. Hopefully Jacobs can do it, there's nothing worse than a fighter who loses it all after one loss.
Yes I would love to see that. As much as I enjoyed Oscar the boxer, I love seeing Oscar the promoter put in his place.
