Problem is he's in a division where all the world champs (Walters, Gonzalez, Gradovic, Loma) are stong and genuine world class. Then you have other top contenders like Mares, Sonsona, Mijares, Wilfredo Vasquez jr, Vetyeka, Doniare and more. He can't win a world title in that division.
Walsh and warrington had words on twitter and warrington claimed walsh turned the fight b4. Liam walsh is fighting criag evans as his voluntary
Josh Warrington looks very impressive, he has incredible work rate, speed, accuracy and he seems to know his game pretty well. Needs to develop power and timing a little but the timing will come with experience and it is getting better every fight, I think he could go all the way but he is in a very tough division at the minute
Being severely overrated imo. Seems a lot of people jumping on the hype because he has a decent following, emphasis on decent. So what if his fans sing i predict a riot and throw beer everywhere. Will be found out soon.
I believe on his improvements over the last few fights.. Warrington is the most improved fighter I have seen with excellent work rate. Better than Ricky was at similar stages of careers and he went on to win a world title. Ryan Walsh gave Selby who is away to fight for a world title massive problems and was a close fight. Have you seen the Evans fight against Ronnie Billy?? Until you see that you can't say Evans won easy. They put 2 rounds on Boxnation Ronnie won both they other rounds were very similar. You know better than most what boxing is like. Ronnie could easily still be undefeated and have won all his fights
And a massive 32% of these fans will know which weight class he fights at. 'Stand up if you hate Man U' :-(
does it matter that much, their paying £40 + for a ticket and are supporting him, if I was boxing id rather have fans paying to watch me in person, even if their not boxing experts, rather than people on boxing forums, boxing press saying how good I am like ward and rigo and fighting in near empty arena's hopefully some of those other 68% will turn from part-time / casual fans to more hardcore knowledgeable fans in time
Spot on, I took 8 friends that night, some casual fans and some not fans at all. By the end of the night were all hooked and wanted to not only follow boxing, but go to other events. Another lad I was with was a former boxer from Nottingham who has being to his fair share of fights, including most of Froches fights there, and he had never seen anything like it. As for Josh he has only just gone full time so who knows he can be. He's only young and if he develops more power to go with his speed, work rate and good fundamentals, as well as being matched correctly (and not rushed), I think he would give Selby a great fight, who may well win a title this year, so yes, he could gain a title but is in a strong division.
