What can you guys tell me about Luis Castillo (https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/45)? A while back, I wrote a little on the filmed match between Manuel Ortiz and Luis Castillo. By chance, I re-watched this the other day, and once again I was impressed by not only Ortiz, but Castillo too. He appeared to be a skilled, stout boxer, who knew how to work his short height and superior strength against others, which he shows by catching Ortiz (a master inside fighter imo) with massive left hooks, and using crab like defensive measures similar to Qawi. However, I know little about his actual career and class. Educate me. He seems much more impressive on film than on his record (which is very spotty and inconsistent), and it also appears from Boxrec, he fought on way, way too long. The more I look, was he just a stylistic trouble for Ortiz? How good was he?
