    Their role is to promote GBP and attract other fighters to be a part of its stable. It was initially a big deal because they appeared to be the only true pro-fighter promotion group. It almost resembled a union. I think early on they probably had thoughts of controlling the industry like UFC, but it hasn't work out so well. Still, it's very successful as a traditional promotion company.
