Sorry it's not much help but I recall him as a tough brawling fighter who sometimes led with his chin(because he could). He was very good but fell just short when he came up against elite fighters. I was quite shocked that Benn seemed to get in his head because DD was a tough SOB and a good ambassador for not-quite-elite fighters. Best win probably Sims and Thornton(I think???) but gave Hearns a bit to think about.More tough than skilled.
I've seen more skill from Dewitt than I have in most of the recent middleweight title fights...He wasn't all about finesse but he had a good bag of tricks to get the job done. Physically he was a bit lacking, though he was strong, wasn't slow and was a natural talent. He lost some fights he shouldn't of but really he just was around when the talent was to much for him...He was getting past it by the time Benn and Toney got to him. Though I think he would give up a bit in the physical and athletic departments to the current crop...his nous and fighting spirit puts him right up there in the mix..I've seen him take on much bigger guys fearlessly and made them uncomfortable.
see his fight vs James Toney, that should be floating around somewhere. He can take some punches, usually
Decent, tough fighter. A brawler mostly, but pretty skilled. I recall him as being just below the top level, but good enough to be competitive with some of those guys.
DeWitt was very good! He doubled and trebled all his jabs and hooks really well, and kept his fence up very well always ready to let the right hand go. He gave Tommy Hearns a very close, very competitive fight, and took apart Matt Hilton.
