Chang lost to a great fighter like Zapata at the age 21 and you're holding that against him. It was a very close fight. It's like holding Azumah Nelson's loss to Sanchez against him. Thats supposed to be something you applaud.

I brought up the Lopez fight knowing Zapata was very inexperienced at the time. I just followed your lead tbh. Zapata had already beaten a former champion in his 5th fight, Juan Guzman. Lopez was on a 4 fight losing streak (3 by KO) when he fought Zapata. If we're counting early losses, Zapata's loss was more disappointing. After beating Zapata, Lopez went 4-5-1 in his next 10 fights. Zapata had been a pro for a year when he fought Lopez. You know who else fought Lopez a year into his career? The Korean Hawk. Knocked him out in the 3rd round. But Zapata's loss doesn't mean **** because he was inexperienced. Chang was also inexperienced when he fought Zapata and arguably beat him. Knocked him out in the 3rd round in the rematch. Does that not show you how good Chang was? He was 22 and he knocked out a prime Zapata. Zapata had been a pro twice as long as Chang and had 13 title fights compared to Chang's 1.

Chang was the greatest light flyweight of all time. I don't give a **** where IBRO ranks him. IBRO also ranks Jack Blackburn as the 12th greatest lightweight ever. He's ranked above Joe Brown, Alexis Arguello, Freddie Welsh, Packy McFarland. And Ismael Laguna, Sammy Mandell, Beau Jack, Bob Montgomery, Sammy Angott, Esteban De Jesus didn't make the cut. According to IBRO, Barbados Joe Walcott is the 4th greatest welterweight that ever lived. Greater than Jose Napoles, Kid Gavilan, Barney Ross, Emile Griffith..... IBRO can **** off.
