    Well neither does jumping rope when I tried boxing coming from football most of the exercises other than running were useless in my opinion.

    Jumping rope is great. All top boxers do it.

    Boxing is about subtle fine footwork, Balance, Lifting your feet off the ground to a minimum, same as skipping rope. Timing of the hands and feet.

    Even though it's typically a static exercise you still can move left, right, forward and backwards whilst skipping.

    Shoulder endurance as it forces you to hold your arms high and keep them there, helps timing and hand eye coordination, There you have it.

    Absolutely,,,if the speed bag was useless I have a difficult time believing Ray Arcel, Angelo Dundee and Emanuel Steward would have been fooled into their fighters using it..

    Bro, if a Gretzky was training for hockey by using a sit and spin, I ain't gotta be a trainer or a hockeystick player to know it's dumb. It's just dumb unless they can prove otherwise against all odds. But nobody can prove that a speed bag does anything special at all. You can just move your arms around. Or maybe how about spar somebody. Since you have to actually move around and evade punches that way. Instead of sticking your head into a moving bag and pretending you dope when you get out the way. It's like a big scrotum more than a fist.

    But you can just hold your arms up without the bag, jeenyis. Nintendo works for hand eye coordination but nobody praises you for dragging the console into the gym and having nice moves on that. You guys just will not let this thing go about this bag I swear.

    Pretty much every great fighter has used ethnic slurs at some point or cheated on they wives and girlfriends. That don't make it helpful or right or based in anything scientific. It's like you don't know how to reason, man.

    See above. You're just saying other people do it so it's right. There have been thousands of terrible traditions that aren't based on anything helpful. My granddaddy used to beat up ladyboys on the streets of Myanmar as part of a tradition but nowadays everyone tells us that is wrong even though that's what everybody used to do, the best people in the whole neighborhood, pillars of the community would do that.

    Lol, that's not science you silly, you gave examples without any EXPLANATION. You should have given an explanation, i.e., a SCIENTIFIC MODEL to EXPLAIN why those examples supported your claim. Since you didn't give any scientific model, you didn't give any actual science.

    And by the way, everything these people say the speed bag trains is false, all those things are actually trained with a double-end bag (while wearing big gloves (14-oz. or more)) and just wearing big gloves (14-oz. or more) more often!!!

    Not false, the speedbag is a usefull tool, if you cant see the purpose of the tool then you are a tool yourself lol. Just because you can train similar aspects on another piece of equipment doesnt automatically void the one in question. It has been used for an eternity for a reason. All you have to do is try to pull 6-12 rounds on it and then think about the usefulness of it.

    No one should jump rope as you can just run instead, silly stuff.
