If we did not have those "thirld world nations" there would be no more entertaining boxing and more of the guy in your avatar, chad dawson, andre ward and andre berto.
I don't see this as a rivalry. Mexico, in the long run, is a boxing giant compared to the Philippines. Might as well turn it into a Mexico vs Pacman rivalry.
Nah bro, I am a fan of fighters from all countries. Even ones where the inhabitants must drink their own sewage. :thumbsup
I agree. Mexico and PR have produced most of my favorite fighters. And Manny is one of my currrent favorites too.
i'm just messing you up bro. first world or third world fighters i admire them if they give their best in fights win or lose. :good
that's all bec of the impact of chavez legacy...he is timeless and he had left behind for others to follow...
weve had our share of great fighters too before pac came along, so i definitely agree with you on that. pac just made boxing popular in the phils and it is only now that the rest of the world have paid attention to pinoy boxing mainly due to media coverage in his fights. i hope that the next wave of pinoy fighters can achieve what mexico has done in the world of boxing. kudos to both countries. btw many of us pinoys who follow boxing before pac grew up admiring mexican boxers, thats the truth that can never be denied
What are you guys thoughts on Juanma Lopez??? I know mexicans are saying that Ponce sucks(which is totally not true since he KOed Boom Boom in the 1st round) and that Juanma sucks too.
In terms of talent, the Philippines' talent is as good as Mexico's talent. It's unfair to say that there are more Mexican champions because Mexico is more exposed to America. Mexico is one of the closes neighbour of America. If the Philippines is as to America like Mexico then the Filipino boxers will get the exposure the they need. Anyway, right now there are more Mexican boxers than Filipino boxers so the chance of a Mexican becoming a champion is higher than Filipinos.
You gotta count only title fights here. If you didn't, then other rivalries like Mexico-Puerto Rico would have 320498 or so fights. Example A: Cintron-Angulo last night.
