Poll coming. Campillo has been robbed 4 times now, CLEARLY bet Murat 2 and likely bet him in 1, also bet Shumenov in 2.
115 - 112 Campillo 8 rounds to the Spaniard 1 round even (Which could of gone to Campillo) 3 rounds to Cloud, including a 10 - 7 for the first.
8-4 campillo, but I was really drunk and past out about 20 minutes after the fight, I need to rewatch it and score it again.
I had it 114-112 campillo, I thought the best cloud could ask for was 113-113 while campillo conceivably could have won 116-110. Campillo gave away the 11th and 12th though to throw his hands up, so I was thinking the draw would be fair. The 11th was his until they stopped to check the cut, then he just showboated and did nothing the rest of the round. Either way, this is a robbery, which is a term I don't throw around much. Cloud needs to fight him immediately and win legitimately if he wants respect.
Did he win those bets? Said he wouldn't, on the short term anyway. He said "later on, down the road". He pretty much had the same tone (only unwarranted) PWill had in his post-fight interview, he wants the big names.
Oh I know what he said, but we'll see what big names want to fight a guy that hasn't reached their status yet, is a dangerous opponent, has almost no name recognition outside of hardcore fans, and is coming off a robbery win against another opponent without a big name. If he wants to be respected he needs to fight him again. Others like dawson/johnson said they wouldn't fight again and did because they need that fight to earn real credit for the win. As long as the rematch is within the next couple fights, maybe fight a tune-up lefty first, he's ok and on the right track.
Equally?? Hmm.. dunno, I would support Willams-Canelo more than I would Cloud vs winner of BHop-Dawson II.
I'm a part time Texas judge and I had it scored 145-0 Cloud. And thank you Don King for that new pickup.
I had it 114-112 Campillo. The 4th, 6th and 12th were close rounds that I gave to Tavoris Cloud, but they could have easily gone the other way. So, conceivably Campillo could've won 117-109 or 116-110 if you were being generous to the Spaniard. No way could you justify giving Cloud more than 4 rounds, though. Mental verdict by the judges. Even without the two knockdowns it would've been a draw. :?
I don't think I would. Cloud's still probably a top 5 light heavyweight who was just tooled by a top 3 one. Williams is borderline top 10 at his weight class at best; the Ishida victory should not represent a major boost to his reputation.
On ratings, yeah ok I'd agree. From a H2H standpoint, I see Williams giving Canelo fits... and see Cloud being a lost [angry] puppy in the ring vs Hopkins or Dawson.
