I had Morales by a point, or a draw at worst. But Diaz's sloppy pressure was not enough to win.

Morales by at least two or three points. I felt so bad for him.

Diaz got a hometown decision in Chicago. Also, Arum stood nothing to gain from Morales winning as it was his last fight.

The ramifications of this fight are still held today, as Top Rank has been using Diaz and his WBC belt as leverage in keeping future Pacquiao fights in house. (To fight Diaz instead of JMM would keep all promotion within Top Rank's wallet).

Oh yeah, did I mention that without David Diaz's presence in this division, Don King would've had a stranglehold on all the ABC belts since Juan Diaz (at the time) cleaned house.*

*Juan Diaz has since lost all the belts to Campbell, who signed with King before the fight...JUST AS JUAN DIAZ ENDED HIS CONTRACT WITH DKP!!! Casamayor, a Golden Boy fighter, holds the Ring belt.

Morales by a point I mean a draw is possible but how Diaz won still makes me wonder. I just dont know what judges see sometimes.
