Madrimov's whole entire game plan was to spoil the fight. You can't crticize a guy for not getting a KO against a total spoiler opponent

I get what you are saying thus I always go back and rewatch fights a day or so after watching it live. I didn't agree with people trying to use Madrimov's "10 pro fight experience" as a means to suggest that he somehow would be an easy fight for Crawford.

Madrimov fought at 178lbs as an amateur. He's a solid fighter. 300+ fights. Very athletic. He definitely knows his way around a boxing ring. He's also developed.....He's 29/30 years old. Not some kid trying to get his feet wet. He held a world title for Christ sake....lol. I guess people thing world titles are easy to come by....lol.

I feel as talented as Madrimov was, he was gun shy on this stage vs Crawford. Where others felt he overachieved, I feel he underachieved, not because of his inability to compete, but because of his fear of being exposed with Crawford's counters.

This was the first opponent in which we didn't see Crawford physically just pushing back. Crawford had to break him down through combinations similar to what he did to Benavidez. Madrimov should have trusted his ability to land on Crawford a little more and use his footwork to get out of range when not throwing instead of feints for the sake of keeping Crawford guessing.

I tend to think that way also.

Exactly, I'm puzzle over the entire buzz that they were pushing for Madrimov from the beginning of the week until the final bell. Even more bizarre was the punch stats that had Madrimov out landing Crawford 36 to 35 midway through the fight. It's like they were giving Madrimov points for his feints and not counting Crawford's connections.

After watching it, I don't see Madrimov winning 4 rounds. I can argue 3 at most but, not a strong argument. First half of the fight was a feint fest....second half the feints turned into counter straights and eventual short combinations sprinkled in, but he also got his bell rung 4 different times. Even at the end of what I consider his best round, which was round 8.

I wouldn't mind seeing Madrimov/Tszyu.....Fundora's camp won't put him in the ring with Crawford. That was clear after he won the WBO off of Tszyu. I honestly still want Crawford to fight Charlo....but I would a healthy Charlo in there. Mentally and physically.

Honestly.... that is a scorecard I would not argue either. Madrimov was too cautious as the puncher, bigger man, title holder....... We all knew Crawford's counters are lethal. But he also becomes open for the overhand and straights especially when he gets aggressive. Madrimov has to go for his vs a guy like Crawford instead of having a game plan of keeping Crawford from "getting in rhythm" by pump faking for 12 rounds. That's no different from a fighter using his legs to keep from engaging with a puncher in my eyes, without throwing punches themselves.

He started to open up in the 8th round. Caught Crawford with 2 really nice straights....but Crawford buckled him with that lead uppercut and it took his offensive confidence out of the game.

Madrimov knew that he didn't do much to win the fight....Look at his face and body language while the scorecards are being read. But everyone that hates Crawford wants people to believe Crawford struggled and/or possibly lost to this guy.

I agree he isn't Roy Jones, but several times, he's looked head and shoulders above others in his divison. This fight he looked less so.

The entire broadcasting team were on crawfords nuts. I don't hate crawford at all think hes a great talent, won me money against spence. 7 - 5 is fair, a draw would be fair too. Saying he "whipped" madrimov is pure fanboyism. Look at the punch stats, fight was razor close. Good on crawford for pulling out the W and being almost 37 years old.

So you are giving rounds to Crawford because Madrimov feints, seem like the judges disagree with you.. they actually penalise Crawford to actually doing nothing and falling to the feints. The fight was a draw on the three judges scorecards up till the 10, which is what almost everyone here have it.
Crawford won the last 2 rounds on three cards and won the fight. I had the 12 to Madrimov and had it a draw, wouldn’t argue if anyone gave it to Crawford. The fight is ok but both turned out uninspiring performance.

At first I thought it was a Madrimov win but looking at it the fight was close enough either could have won it up to the 10th round. That said i don’t know why European fighters never step it up in the championship rounds when the fight is close. Porter’s commentary didn’t help at all either him cheering for Crawford so hard was making me look for any little thing Madrimov landed.

Fanboyism huh?.....lol. Sounds like you don't know what you saw Saturday, and you simply just accepting what people tell you. Almost everyone on the telecast was pro-Madrimov....why....because he was the fighter that actually belonged to Matchroom, Eddie Hearn......And this was a Matchroom card.....

If those punch stats were accurate then I would agree with you but those of us who actually watch the fight and know what we see know that the bullsh** that is the punch stats for this bout was more qualified to be label "fanboyism"....

Madrimov didn't attempt a single combination until the 7th round. Crawford was actually more active vs Madrimov than he normally is in the early rounds. He would tap and double Madrimov's defense with the jab to bait him into throwing something. That's the reason his efficiency wasn't of his norm. We would literally see Madrimov throw a straight at Crawford, no matter if it lands or not, the commentators started to glorify Madrimov like he was dominating Crawford in the ring.....Crawford would respond with a 3 punch combo and they would go silent... Shawn Porter even got frustrated late in the fight trying to correct them on the nonsense they were saying. They called Porter's name and it was dead silence for 10 seconds before Porter simply said....."I got no comment".

Crawford's only bruise was due to a head butt to the eye..... But look at Madrimov's face.... Look at how many times he got stunned and knees buckled late in the fight. He hurt Madrimov in the 8th, 10th, and in the 11th.....but me saying that he whipped Madrimov is "fanboyism" simply because I'm not relying on suspect punch stats to be the basis of my opinion.....Kick rocks homie.

I'm a boxing fan. Be participating, watching, loving, involved with this sport for 4 decades. I know what I see. Madrimov best attribute of the night was feints..... And feints don't put points on the board, yet, y'all are praising for doing it for 10 rounds.

I DON'T CARE WHAT THE JUDGES HAD IT. What tf is wrong with y'all. Do you NOT know how to think for yourself. I can give 2 shyts, what the judges had it. I made this post to discuss WHAT I SAW AND HOW I.......ME.......MYSELF......HOW I saw the fight. I'm not campaigning for anyone to change the results and/or scoring. I can careless if everyone on this board agreed with the judges. I know what I saw and I didn't see a "close fight" like some claim it was.

And Crawford did got "penalized" for falling to feints...lol. Where tf did you get that from? So, now fighters can win a round just by flinching and not throwing punches. And if the opponent attempts to protect themselves, they will get penalized for it.......lol.
