Scores going into the 9th?

4 a piece and Diaz actually winning the ninth until he got caught. It was inevitable that he would get caught though, because he was choosing to go to war with very little left in his legs.

 

at LEAST 5-3 Diaz.

 

5-3 for Marquez and Diaz winning the 9th before the KD.

 

I had it 5-3, but I could've also had it 4-4 for Marquez

I had it 4-4 with JMM taking control.

 

5-3 for Marquez. I did not listen to Harold Ledermann and the rest as they were biased. Max actually said some good things tonight. Marquez was cutting Diaz down from the beginning, but when he stayed in the center of the ring, he took care of business. I also had Marquez winning the 9th round before the knockout.

 

It was actually a pretty easy fight to score. Juan D. won the first three pretty clearly and lost the rest, as far as I'm concerned.

 

It really puzzles me how people could have Diaz up at the time of stoppage, though I'm never suprised because most fans follow HBO's and Harold Lederman's lead on how they have it scored.....

I had it 6-2 for Marquez....the first two rounds to Diaz and all the rest for Marquez.
.....and even those rounds I gave Diaz were razor close.

The HBO team felt to give those first 3 rounds and a few others, because the fight was being fought at Diaz' normal pace.....
Max Kellerman had to intervene at one point and mention, "guys, while Diaz may be throwing alot punches and fighting at high pace, Marquez I feel is landing the harder more telling blows.'
Kellerman was absolutely right......


.....I simply felt that though Diaz was providing constant pressure and throwing alot of shots, JMM was simply evading and blocking alot of what Diaz was getting credit for by the judges.

In the midst of Diaz' flurries and even when JMM was on the ropes, JMM was dodging and blocking alot of what Diaz was throwing, and shooting clean, hard, accurate counters from every concievable angle.

.....when it reached the midpoint, the pace decreased just a tad, and that enabled JMM to find further room to extend and put real hard snap on his shots.....

the HBO crew started to insinuate that the pace favored Diaz, but I was seeing how clean and thudding JMM was landing downstairs......much cleaner and crisper than what Diaz was dishing out......and I had the feeling that if the pace slowed down just a tad, Marquez would start to operate at exactly the pace he likes it to lay down the thunder.:yep

Thank God JMM came to lay it on the line, because short of that KO, I really dont feel that JMM was going to walk out of there with his hands raised no matter what he did.

Got to give credit to Diaz as well.....he said from the beggining that he'd come out to set a pace he did'nt feel Marquez could hang with him in.....
I felt that JMM's accurate hard counters would discourage Diaz' pace setting and that he would shy away and diminish his workrate as the fight progressed.

.....got to hand it to that young man named Juan Diaz, he came to win, and he was'nt going to shy away from anything.....in the midst of getting repeatedly countered hard with a variety of hooks and uppercuts, he kept pressing no matter what, until it all caught up to him.

Diaz went out on his shield, and there's nothing to be ashamed about that.....especially knowing that he succumbed to the best P4P fighter in boxing today!:yep


Sorry guys, but there's no way that Diaz should have been up in that fight......the further the fight went, so was the difference in class growing larger.

4-4 even. They had some very close rounds, I can see how people would have either man at 5-3.

4-4 seems the most reasonable score to me though.
