That's pretty cynical man :) I just don't score 10-8 rounds without a knockdown straight.

Are you saying that's what you do now? because that's not how it works but I agree with the concept, definitely.

I think perhaps there's a need for consistency. Rounds can legitimately be scored 10-8 with no knockdown so perhaps rounds should be scored 10-9 with knockdowns when it is deemed appropriate by the judge.

    Just re-watched it.
While it was a definite Mayweather round I'm not sure it was a 10-8 as while Floyd did land some really good shots especially in that flurry where he had Hatton in the corner towards the end of the round, Hatton did manage to keep fighting back and did do some work in the middle of the round.

I see no issue with this. I mean, if a round where I've beat the **** out of my opponent -- stunning him and making him wobble repeatedly -- is gonna' be scored by the same margin as my opponent pitter-pattering his way in the next round, then I'm gonna' feel hard-done by. I know that's how the scoring system works, but still, I'm willing to reward a fighter if he's done serious damage in a round. A good example of this would be Khan-Maidana in the 10th and, yep, Bradley-Provodnikov in the 2nd.

    Or...

Someone who sees a blatant KD - round 1, 10-8

that's cool. I get that some people have no issue with this. the second part of the question is whether you would be okay with a scoring system in which a round where there was a knockdown could be scored 10-9?

Every single round of Vitali/Briggs should have been one
Bradley was always throwing back so i dont think this fight had any

then think in occasions when a fighter hurts his opponents and goes balls to the wall and chases him and tries to knock him down. The crowd goes wild and everybody cheers because he needs a knock down in order to win.
The fighter who is hurt knows the KD will change the result and is about to go down, but takes all the will power in his body to stay up and his opponent fails to capitalize on stunning him.

    Give the guy credit

:think You know, I probably would be. Say fighter A is completely dominant and outboxing his man (I mean, seriously sonning him), but then suffers a quick flash knockdown because of a combination of balance or whatever, then yeah, I would score it a 10-9 for fighter B if I could.

Vitali-Briggs should of been stopped after rd 9 latest tbh, that was poor refereeing from IJ Lewis

So do you thin Bradley should of been given an 8 for either the first or second round? Cos from what I saw it was not a 3 minute beating and Bradley was throwing punches back. Although weak ass punches lol
