The boxing match that stopped a nation, in almost celebration. I remember the whole of St Mary Street in Cardiff (15-20 bars/pubs/clubs) was roaring 'Simply The Best' and very loudly cheering Eubank vaulting the ropes. This content is protected I feel Benn's upper body motions made Chris miss mostly everything he threw all night, the scoring shots of Eubank stood out only because Benn dodged and slid so many others. Eubank was shoeshining Benn's nearly-shaven haircut. 1-Benn 2-Benn 3-Eubank 4-Benn 5-EVEN 6-Benn 7-Eubank 8-Eubank 9-Benn 10-EVEN 11-Eubank 12-Benn -1 Benn (persistent low blows) 115-114 Benn Decision was NOT a robbery by any stretch, and a draw was fine. A strangely cumbersome-looking Eubanks awkward counter punching clawed his way back into it after leading off overly tight early doors and missing. Chris has the faster hands and sharper combinations, so Tibbs and Powell knew Benn had to almost overly move his head and utilize a right uppercut to the body to slow the guy down. There is a moment in maybe the seventh or eighth in which Benn ducks, slips and weaves his head around a rapid-fire six-punch combo - it is scarey. Of course notoriously negative Jim Watt continues to say Benn is being wreckless..... Hmm. Throw me your scores.
Had it 114-113 Benn. So did my dad. Actually, that seemed to be the score most I've spoke to had as well.
One more thing, Benn is not being warned for the persistent rabbit punching, which is interesting. Other referees may of warned him. He'd of stopped the rabbit punches of course if warned, you'd imagine, or more points would be taken. Also Benn lands yet another low blow right after he has his point taken! Nothing is said. He didn't need to be dirty - he was effective enough without being dirty was Benn
Bet on this with a work colleague and had Eubank to win but he lost really, close but lost. At least kept my money
Just a bet between each other for £20. Escaped that one. On another note actually picked Mayweather to beat Hatton in the tenth but didn’t put on the bet
I was in the nosebleed seats at Trufford and scored it 10/2 Benn. I watched it on TV a couple of days later and had it 6/6.
Actually went to the fight live had Eubank in front.Watching at home on tv scored it to Benn cant remember by how much
I dont remember my score but I had it pretty even. It was close and I thought a draw was a good decision.
Benn is a dirty fighting health hazard, Eubank kept his integrity so I suppose I lean to the better man.
