I don’t remember the Salido fight too well, but I think I do remember thinking that Salido won the fight. Sure there was a bunch of low blows, but the ref didn’t call them and Loma waited too long to come on. He looked great in those last rounds, though. The Teo fight, I had it 7-5 Teo and at best a draw. Loma started way too slow in this one. With Haney, that was a highway robbery in my book. I had that one 9-3 Loma.
Lomachenko Vs Lopez 1: 9-10 2: 9-10 3: 9-10 4: 9-10 5: 9-10 6: 9-10 7: 10-9 8: 10-9 9: 10-9 10: 10-9 11: 10-9
Lomachenko Vs Lopez 1: 9-10 2: 9-10 3: 9-10 4: 9-10 5: 9-10 6: 9-10 7: 10-9 8: 10-9 9: 10-9 10: 10-9 11: 10-9 12: 9-10 113-115 I see a weak argument for Lomachenko winning, if you give him rounds 2 and 12. I see a stronger argument for a draw if you give Loma one of those 2 rounds. But all in all I think this is a fair result. Loma was very ineffective in the first half of the fight and was frustratingly inactive.
Haney Vs Lomachenko 1: 9-10 2: 10-9 3: 9-10 4: 10-9 5: 9-10 6: 10-9 7: 9-10 8: 10-9 9: 9-10 10: 9-10 11: 9-10 12: 10-9 113-115 This should have been Lomachenko's redemption for the Lopez loss. It would have regained his spot as LW champion and would have made him a 4 belt champion. Lomachenko could have then reigned as champion maybe being tempted to move up for the Lopez rematch at some point. I think there's a reasonable argument for Haney getting the victory here, but it's a cruel decision.
November 18th I started this thread. Since then I've decided all 3 losses could easily be scored as 3 losses, 3 draws, 3 wins or anything in-between. For me the right result is Loma going 2-1 with his loss being to Lopez, and looking at the poll results, that's the most selected answer, even though it's still a minority result. I can't, in good conscience, hold the Salido or Haney results against Lomachenko. That's 9 years of fighting at the top level. I also can't understand why he started so poorly against Lopez, but given how Lopez then beat Taylor maybe it's a case of Lopez being good enough to force Loma into such low levels of activity. What I do know is, Lomachenko is, imo, the best LW in the world and I thinks he'll prove that against Kambosos meaning the Wahid fight will still have relevance if it ever gets made (with Wahid demanding a larger purse split I doubt it).
You haven't watched rounds 2 and 6 properly, Loma outlands Lopez, with cleaner shots...Lopez work is one arms/elbows at best in these rounds
I've watched them more recently than you, as I watched them tonight. You need to rewatch the rounds if you're gonna comment on this thread. Watch them both now, in real time and score them.
