I have seem some very clean shots that easy should be a score, yet so many are not called. Am I seeing it wrong?

    Whats up with that?

I was just thinking that same thing!! I don't understand olympic scoring...it frustrates me to watch it...I wish Teddy would define it a little better, but I honestly think he doesn't understand it either!!

Using normal criteria - must land in the scoring area with the white knuckle surface of the glove, weight of the shoulder behind the punch and while not fouling.

That said - 3 out of 5 judges must push the button for the same boxer within a one-second window to have the computer "accept" the point.

This has nothing to do with the "raw score" where the computer accepts every single time the judge pushes the button for each boxer. Raw score is always higher than accepted score.

Seeing a low accepted score does not mean that those were the only punches the judges saw. Those are the only punches that were accepted by the computer.

Thank you, thats what I thought. It just seems like alot of very clean very obvious punches are being missed or not counted.

Yes, it's just hard to score because it usually has to be in close and there are a lot of arms and what not in the way; makes it harder for the judges to see.

Been watching some of the matches and I have seen a point given for a body shot. Just watched a match between Britains Saunders vs someone from Ghana I think and Saunders scored a KO with a nice body shot.

it's bs as trainers will now be telling boxers to go to the head only - you're not gonna ware someone out with bodyshots in 4 rounds!!!
