Anyone who has a problem with a drug as strong as Alcohol, does not sort their problems out overnight.

Pro boxing at the top level is a pressure sport, if you are already fighting the battle of Alcohol, you do not the added stress.

That said, the training aspect is not a bad idea and can help in taking your mind off the booze. You also need proper profesional help in planning out your life. Also you must accept you need to take this one day at a time, and there maybe setbacks.

I hope Harrison is fighting his demons, it is a fight he will have for the rest of his life.

Dunkster, it said on the text he was ready to come back at 130lbs

the problem for Harrison is that he is a 'short' fighter and i think he would struggle with any of the bigger lightweights out there

His frame looks like he should of been a lightweight years ago.

He was making feather since he was 15!

yes indeed, Scottys been sorely missed, especially by me! Its never been the same posting without Harrison kicking around, & even if his comeback attempt ends in defeat as hes been out for a long while I dont mind, cos boxing is too boring without him! Scottys still got a career defining fight to tke care of, thats his unfinished business & I hope that gives him the motivation to come back, & stay back. One big win is all he needs to cement his legacy as one of Scotlands best ever fighters, but who gets the big fight & big win first? Harrison or Arthur?

If Scotty comes back succesfully it will be brilliant for scottish boxing with two world class operators like him & Arthur kicking around, with the likes of Anderson, Morrison, Young & McAllister not far behind them & great prospects like McEwan & Appleby coming through. & of course there is big Ian Millarvie, our heavyweight hope!

If Harrison comes back well, it will be a great shot in the arm for scottish boxing. Im not kidding myself though, I still think its a big IF.

But hey, its better seeing Scotty in the gym rather than dead in two years, like that News Of The World was screaming from its front page yesterday.

I wont be buying that rag, or the Sun again.

If he is back on track that can only be good news for him and hopefully for boxing. On his game I would take him to beat anyone.

    Good luck to him.

Forgetting the problems the layoff is going to give Harrision, how do people see him performing at lightweight? I could never decide whether him being a big feather was worth the weight making. He won a lot of fights by physically dominating opponents at the cost of struggling towards the end of fights towards the end of his career. Now he's going to lose a lot of those physical advantages but presumeably be better off for stamina and general conditioning??

Personally I think he'll stuggle at the higher weight. I'm not saying it was his only atribute by any stretch but being the bigger man was a large part of his game at feather, he'll really miss it at lightweight IMHO.
