Read in the paper yesterday about a possible bout.Tommy Gilmour shot the idea down.It kicked of a fierce debate at my place of work though.Who do you guys think would win and in what manner.
I don't get this fight. I said before Harrison has been on a 7 year drinking session... I don't see him having any chance... Ever. Even if he wasn't still pissing in the doorway of Tesco. If Harrison makes it back to British title level his comeback will have been a success.
The saddest thing about this being mentioned is that they need to use Scott Harrison to get Ricky Burns noticed and get his name in the papers to help raise his profile. Its a shame because Ricky is a good guy and a decent fighter and should not need this to get the credit he deserves for being world champion. As for the winner I'll wait till I see if Scott has anything left to give in the ring before making a decision
Prime 4 prime, I would have picked Burns to win, simply cos he has the style that Scotty found hard to handle, tall, rangy & fast with a jab in scottys face all night whilst he tried to close the distance to make it his fight. It was Scottys only weakness though, put him in with anyone else who didnt have the reach & fitness to pop him on the outside & get away? scotty would wear you down & win. He was THAT good. However Maloney missed the boat with Scotty & chose the wrong fights when he should have saw what was unfolding in Scottys world, Maloney always made himself out the victim, but his handling of Harrisons career was AWFUL. He didnt push for the big fights at the right time, & it still bugs me to this day. Fights against Marquez & Chi fell through, to name but two. Scotty ended up a criminal, but things could have ended so differently if Scottys career wasnt handled so criminally:-(
Ricky would win even with Scott being at his prime,Ricky has the perfect style for Scott and i should know. Scott will need to come through the domestic route to fight for a world title imo so we'll see if its still there or not in due coarse. The only good thing would be two Scots fighting for a world title which would be big up here but nowhere else imo,Ricky has much bigger fish to fry imo. I obviously wish Scott well for the 29th June.
is this serious? I doubt Harrison could get back to a decent standard after the abuse he's given his body but surely he has to have a few fights at British level before this becomes a genuine proposition.
