Scott Quigg ‏@scottquigg 1m1 minute ago Going live with @EddieHearn from the @MatchroomBoxing at 1.20pm on @SkySportsNewsHQ worth tuning in! £1.5m has been offered to Frampton today from Matchroom boxing to fight Scott Quigg July 18th at the Manchester Arena.
can't get onto twitter via work which is annoying, hopefully he'll announce the quigg fight thought that is very wishful thinking my guess is he'll fight a nobody on the O2 card, and they'll try and turn that into a PPV
Glad its not june 20th as im on holiday then and my wife and daughter wouldn't of been chuffed with me heading off to find a pub to watch it in lol
So Eddie wants the challenger to have home advantage and on the challengers tv network and yet if Frampton turns this down Eddie will do his usual "I cant understand why the boy don't want a big payday, the offers here, the most money he'll ever get"
To be fair if the offer is genuine then that is very good money for a fight I believe Frampton wins and wins well.
true, but its eddies job as quiggs promoter to get him home advantage etc, and he's made an offer. If Framptons team can make a better offer than fine, if not they should accept eddies offer. Maybe have neutral refs / judges from USA like froch groves if there is an issue. its a good offer too imo, very few fighters in the world getting 1.5mil purses
Its a good offer, imo hes paying Frampton £1.5m to ruin his boy quiggs reputation but its something that people need to see
Very good offer for Carl, all things being equal he should take it in my opinion However, we don't know the ins and outs with clauses etc
Its a bit of a blasé offer to be honest. They know full well that McGuigan and co want it as a co-promotion, making an offer to Frampton means theyre anticipating it to be soley a Matchroom promotion which they know wont go down well. They (apparently) were asked to a second meeting to sit down and talk about how it could be co-promoted and have yet to accept an offer to meet up, instead Fast Car is up to his usual tricks of throwing a monetary offer out there on social media/Sky Sports for all the casual Sky fans of swallowing and in turn making it seem like an offer too good to be true. The reality is that 'Yes' it is a huge some of money, however we have no idea of the terms attached to this offer and if the terms dont suit Frampton (who's really holding the better hand in terms of negotiations) then he as his team will quite rightly turn the offer down. In my personal opinion, this should be a co-promotion in a neautral city (Brum, London etc), with a US Ref/Judges. The only discrepancy in all the negotiations should be who ringwalks last (Frampton).
