£1.5m is a good offer if it's just that, the casual fan will just see £1.5m they won't see all options that could possibly be in the contract. It's a nothing offer anyway, Matchroom/Eddie know that Team Frampton want a co-promotion so it's all just a PR stunt.
However ... What are the massive ins and outs you could refer too? Yes if it's a sole matchroom show you'll get MR fighters on there, woopdy do..! Yes quigg may enter as the champion , yes quigg may be "at home" Buts let's be frank, quigg don't do massive numbers, he's yet too sell out a big arena.. Frampton does, he'll bring a lot (which will be an advantage to carl as ppl will see Scott not selling out at home..) Fact is, they'll both have the same weight limit on the same day, both have same weighted gloves on & both sign to do 12rds.. No, for £1.5m give or take, carl needs to take this fight & not look back - that pay day is astronomical for two a.bantams ..
What about options on Frampton's TV situation? Rematch clause? PPV percentage? Ticket sales percentage? It could be loads of huge things. A flat fee of £1.5m doesn't seem that much, when Sky can hype this fight into doing 500,000 PPV buys at £17.99 each does it? Plus a sold out MEN which will probably bring in the £1.5m alone. Don't be so naïve.
Just watched the Scott quigg interview with Kugan, Scott seems like he actually struggles too talk, like he hasn't learnt many words yet, so he just uses the few he has
suppose if you look at it another way, this could tank on the PPV's, Frampton and especially quigg won't be able to sell a fight like groves can. Neither are an especially big name and framptons fight did about 2mil on free TV. yeah the gate receipts will be around the 1.5mil mark, but undercards, quigg himself, the arena, sky, matchroom would all want a chunk of money for this. I'd estimate ppv numbers to be similar to froch groves 1 so financially I think its decent offer for Frampton.
Naiive doesn't come into it, let's take into consideration just the undercard, I'd guess Crolla as chief support as he's the big ticket seller in Manchester, not quigg.. I'd also say Cal smith in a meaningful fight. Yes ticket sales would take it through the roof - but the rest of the under card will need to be a good one for it too sell. And as for rematch clauses , if the fight lives upto expectation & there is a demand for it-- then it will get made regardless. No I stand by what I say, this for two super bantam weights is too good an offer to refuse.
eddie looks like shlt lately....rough as fook....like he rolled out of bed for that sky sports news interview with the cheque.....he used to be slick.
Yea he's got a head like a burst couch and is quite often unshaven. Maybe sky are getting ****ed off at him for his inability to make big fights and the one sided exhibitions he calls ''shows''.
The money is only one factor. What about "options" for example? This offer is just showmanship for the casual fan. Only casuals will be taken in by this stunt. Look at how Spike turned down a fight HE REALLY wanted vs Eubank, due to "options" being attached to the contract.
hearn is taking all the risks here. if PPV doesnt do the buys then matchroom and Quigg take the loss. what money is cyclone putting up for the fight? why dont they reveal their best offer. hearn breaks it down right here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyxcAyrnBM8
