We both said prior to Quigg vs. Salinas that Yoandris was (our subjective view, but with a reasoned basis grounded in actually watching footage of him) really nothing special. People on this very sub-forum were, quite bizarrely, claiming it would be a bigger scalp than any of Frampton's - based on absolutely nothing except, as Brenny says, being an undefeated Cuban...like that in and of itself means anything. Many products of the Cuban amateur boxing program are brilliant, true, but they have their share of duds too. Merely being from there and not having lost yet against tomato cans shouldn't mean you're heralded as some world class threat. A good many have gone bust - look at Yan Barthelemy...and unlike Salinas, there was actually quite a bit of hype around Barthelemy as he was considered a top amateur. (Salinas never was, decent but never mentioned with the best)
