How is it ridiculous when Quigg actively gave away tge 1st 6 rounds? In 6 rounds of Quigg doing next to nothing, yes his jaw was broken but in what's name did you see anything that Frampton did which makes you believe he'd of "sparked him out"? Never once even with a broken jaw was Quigg hurt. As for LSC, he boxed yes but he's not a great boxer yet flummoxed tge alleged talented boxer......Quigg won more rounds against Frampton than Frampton did against LSC 2.
Judging the couple of fights Quigg has had under Roach he should ask for his money back ! Yes the availability of sparring at the Wild Card must be good but the demand on Roach , he is with George St Pierre at a UFC bash tonight, must mean his time is stretched. Quigg is a nice guy but don't see him making a dent in the current featherweight crop.
If you’re not a upper echelon fighter (which Quigg isn’t) there no point going to a Freddie Roach, he’ll devote most of his time to the pacquiaos and the Cottos. We saw how jealous Khan became of Pacquaio when he was with Roach
Quigg threw next to nothing, but he did go into a defensive shell, which is hard for any boxer to break through, whether you're facing a journeyman or a world champion. The one decent opening Frampton got, he broke Quigg's jaw. Do we really need more evidence than that? I don't think so. If you want to discredit the obvious exceptional boxing ability LSC showed in that second fight, go ahead. But it's clearly an agenda-driven assessment in my opinion.
It's nothing of the sort. I've admitted that Quigg gave away the first half 9f the fight by doing next to nothing but at the same time Quigg took over the second half of the fight with a broken jaw and had Frampton holding on in the championship rounds. Frampton won tge fight but it was down to poor tactics on Quigg's team. As for LSC he's not and never has been elite.
Now I think you are looking too much into it, if you think that's all that's wrong, and it will all "come good" or "click " for Quigg. Personally I wouldn't be too hopeful. Quigg has looked awful since the Frampton loss...there's no way to sugarcoat it, he's simply looked awful.
He's more open than ever. When he steps up next it's lights out for him. Pity, seems he's made a bad career choice.
It won't be lights out, if Quigg has anything it's a rock solid chin and stamina. He can easily be outboxed by someone elite though.
Agree, don't think he's really shown all that different. Same seek and destroy approach, one dimensional but powerful. Maybe ol Tesco Joe wasn't so bad after all, hey ;-)
