The guys that question Jones ability, know very little about boxing, that is plain to see.:good

 

I seen Colin in the gym once on the pads at the gym behind my house - years after he retired.

Trust me you don't want to get hit with one of them

 

I was only messing about with Buchanen - I acknowledged in another post that he deserves to be ranked higher than Colin Jones in all time great british fighters.

Lenoard vacated to leave Jones fight for the title - I'm not suggested he was ducking Jones but he did say he was a "very very very good fighter"

 

He vacated because his eye was half hanging out, hence he had quite an extended layoff period around that time before making his comebacks

It's a bit of a push to even infer he was in any way worried about Jones, when he goes on to fight Hagler, Hearns and Duran

The only fighter you could make a case for him ducking is Pryor, but I still don't buy it.

Note: I am 27 yrs old - at the time of all this I was too young to follow boxing - I am only going on what I have seen through footage.

I dont think that Lenoard ducked Colin Jones but I am disappointed that he never took the Jones fight.

I would have loved to have seen Jones fight Duran as well - that would have been a war to remeber.

Thanks for the honest answer our man Flint, I respect that. As for Smith & Jones(hey isnt that comedy show?)well Smith is pal of mine here & Colin Jones? I must admit I know next to nothing about him. Not in a disrespectful way mind, I just tend to concentrate on scottish boxers of the past & present nowadays, & thats probably to the detriment of my overall love of the sport. I need to quell the nationalistic beast inside me a bit to be honest, cos I neglect too much elite level boxing nowadays, & topping up my overall knowledge of boxing.
