Scottish Heavyweight Ian Millarvie returning to the ring in December after a 3 year lay-off. Hopefully this is more good news for Scottish Boxing which is gaining a bit of momentum off the back of Ricky Burns world title win. If he stays fit i think he has the chance to at least fight for domestic honors if not further as he had quite a bit of potential before he retired and was just very unlucky with injuries.

I was fairly excited about this guy a few years ago. Best of luck to him on his return.

    Whats prompted his comeback?

From what I recall he was yet another fighter whos career stalled after falling out with Gilmour, there is a long list of Scottish fighters in that category.

Wasn't he the one who went to the US a long time back before another comeback?

Yea he did go to the states and had one fight. It was supposed to be quite a few fights in the US but he had lots of injuries.

The comeback was apparently prompted by him meeting the promoter Paul Graham at Archies Mckays (Barry Morrisons Coach).

three years out at his level and age is too long. i don't think he'll set the world on fire now, might not even strike a match.
