I concur, he probably just isn't that good... Doesn't mean he can't go fairly far if his managed well, and gets the right fights. But his team seem to have absolute ZERO confidence in him. He hasn't even stepped in with anyone of Tom Dallas' level yet :patsch

OP was very interesting and a good read.

I have always thought Mark Mckeowan from Keir Hardie would make an excellent pro of all the scottish boys. Hard as nails, good workrate, technique and has a bit of power in both fists. The pro game would really suit him.

Taylor has the skills and speed, should get to british level at least.

Joe Ham sounds very dedicated and improving all the time, see how far he goes.

Lewis Benson is a slick amateur but the pro game is not for him.

Sam Ball from Greenock should be a good pro imo.

Always thought Aston Brown would be a good pro a few years back but not sure what is happening with him at the minute. I heard he got stopped in the WSB a while back, these competitions might take there toll on him.

Ally Mackay from up North has a good workrate but not a sound defence.

Mikey Towell is a joy to watch, dangerous opponent but will only be around for so long, he takes a lot of unnecessary punishment. I saw him stop a couple boys in the amateurs but he had massive weight advantages over them.

As for Charlie Flynn he could get to British level if matched correctly.

Scottish boxing has talent, always has done.

Josh Taylor is the future of scottish boxing.. solid well schooled all rounder that has improved loads in the last year or two. Will be turning pro after rio, has the talent to be world champion.

i agree about josh taylor but he has had major hand problems already and imo should turn over now with the gold medal around his neck from commonwealth games. there is no garauntee he will qualify for rio or get close to a medal so his stock will be lower than it is now.

Matthew Mcallister boxed well and showed good fitness over the 10 rounds, came into his own in the second half!! Especially since he's been quite inactive, Good performance and perfect test for a first title fight.
Darren Traynor boxed brilliantly, two brutal knockdowns forced the ref to jump in after the second one, Samir Mouneimne and Ryan Walsh are fighting for the vacant Featherweight Title in summer so hopefully a fight with the winner can happen down the line.
Atmosphere at the ballroom was electric as always but that's the best I've seen it!!

Darren is proper skilful guy, has good hand speed and power and his movement is very good. When he's on it he's class to watch. Downside is he gets involved in tear ups and it really isn't good for his style and he has a slight vulnerability while taking shots. Watched Taylor at weekend and he was class, he fought a lightweight thoigh and was man v boy but only his second fight. Not gonna judge. I highly rate Lewis benson. Sparred paulie malignaggi at MGM and it was him that looked like the ex world champion. He has a great support and a great attitude for it. Iv seen doubters etc on here but from what I have seen he's quality. Stephen Tiffany also at feather. Good work rate and can bang a bit. Just gotta be brought on the right way. I compare him to Mike Towell in style. It's a waste of time them fighting journeymen. They won't have overly long careers due to fan friendly styles and should take the fights while you g and fit. That come forward style opens you up for punishment in fights. Connor law for me is the biggest talent in Scotland st the moment. He's overlooked by everyone and he's genuinly one of the best fighters i have seen on the small hall circuit up here. I hope Tommy doesn't hold him back as for me a Scottish title fight then get him pushing on next year.

Jamie Lol what you talking about, Ive seen Lewis Benson in the ams a few times and he was useless! I'd be surprised if he won the Celtic title!

Why haven't Ross Henderson and Stephen Lavelle turned pro yet?

Josh Taylor and Charlie Flynn are the only scots worth keeping an eye on IMO

Not sure about Lavelle, he was moving about weights in the am's was he not then got beat of Forrest in the Scottish Championships.

Henderson is making his debut on the MGM card in a few weeks time.
