Did anyone attend the show last night? I was disappointed that we never got to see any of the Scottish fighters on the undercard on SKY. Joe Ham was worryingly dropped but was it due to him being too ****y or was he hurt? Isn't a great thing when you are being dropped by a guy 4-2 that has never dropped anyone before. Maybe he won't be as good as i thought. Lewis Paulin was also dropped last night against a guy 3-3-1 that like Joe Ham's opponent has never dropped anybody else even when winning. I thought Lewis would be a decent level pro but if he is getting dropped at this level can he realistically go anywhere? Sam Ball was another up and coming prospect that was dropped last night but at least his guy was another undefeated boxer but he too had never dropped an opponent before last night. Tbh though I think Sam Ball's style means that he will be involved in wars and that he will be dropped pretty regularly even when he wins. Were any of these guys badly hurt or was it just down to being to confident? How far can these 3 go?
Joe Ham was badly hurt. He recovered well and won. Wasn't really too impressed with Joe last night. Lewis Paulin should of been stopped in the first. Was a very heavy knockdown the ref should of stopped it in my opinion. Saying that was fight of the night.. Both toe to toe for the final 3 rounds.. Boy was very hard done by. Sam Ball was in against a good fighter got caught early and recovered well.. Seemed a lot bigger than Hennen.. Was the best of the 3..
If you had asked me before he turned over i would have said that Joe Ham was going to make European level at least but like you I haven't been impressed, he wants to be a pressure fighter that overwhelms his opponents but if he starts getting dropped at this level by guys that aren't even dropping low level opponents then you have to wonder if he really will hit the heights of domestic level. I really fancy Stephen Tiffany to beat him if they ever manage to get the fight on.
The boy ham is rotten, cannot believe some still fancy him to achieve anything. The guy paulin is extremely limited aswell.
anyone can get dropped anytime its all about how you respond and ajust, joe is a very tidy fighter and Lewis ive been impressed with in my gym, john mccarron with iron out the faults with him hes a very good coach
Anybody can be dropped, absolutely. The issue is the level is he lads who dropped the pair. It doesn't bode well for either imo. Ham boasting in another site about doing 300 tickets. I tell you what, I would be affronted if I had asked 300 folk I knew to part with there hard earned for that. The wee guys an embarrassment who will befit for our very very shortly. Mark my words.
john is a decent coach mate but he isn't proven at any kind of level just yet, nice guy and i hope he does well in the future.
i agree with you about being dropped by this level of opponent but if joe ham is doing 300 tickets then he is doing pretty well tbh, although i haven't been impressed he isn't really an embarrassment, well travelled scotland international and has been doing ok as a professional although not setting the world alight:good I'm pretty sure his dad was telling anyone who would listen that joe was going to be fast tracked to titles due to his amateur background but that just hasn't been the case, I've spoke to both joes and i find that young joe is pleasant and pretty respectful but his dad lives on a different planet at times, according to him joe will be a world champion and every time he spars with another professional joe beats them up easily, must be doing all his sparring with jon slowey :rofl:rofl
Less time running about lining Eddie hearns Pockets when the guy couldn't give s monkeys about you and more time on some proper conditioning I would suggest In preparation for his fights.
