Screw Calzaghe; THE fight is Pavlik vs Froch!

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by MasterCalzaghe, Jun 8, 2008.

  1. 2 men, both alike in styles and power this would be a match for the ages!!!

This is the fight I want to see. I have no interest in a Pavlik v Joe matchup and more to the point I'm not sure either of those men do. Froch is talent even Inkin knew this and bitched out like Briggs new his time was up vs Ibragimov. Froch is far from the 2nd rate fighter many of you think he is and he will come good and have his name up there with the best very very soon mark my words.

Such a fight would be a true 50/50 fight and utterly completely and insanely explosive!

    Pavlik's KO % = 88
    Froch's KO % = 82
    Pavlik's losses = zero
    Froch's losses = zero
    Pavlik's Height 6'2"
    Froch's Height 6'0"
    Pavlik's Reach 72"
    Froch's Reach 76"

:huh You're a Calzaghe fan and would rather this young exiting MW fight someone ELSE rather then a fighter you really like?

The worry in this fight for me is that froch hasn't fought any A-Grade fighters. Ok you got to sart somewhere and have a pop but Yeah he would have his chances:hey

Froch has yet to defeat anyone of any note. Granted, it wasn't his fault Inkin pulled out (twice), but it's not like he's a spring chicken. He's what, 31 now?

For the sake of accuracy ... there is no way Pavlik's reach is 72" ... more like 75"+

You just have to look at him to see that ...

That said ... Froch would have to have a complete mind and body transplant to even be in a conversation with Pavlik ...

i haven't seen anything to suggest that this matchup wouldn't be anything more than a slightly more competitive version of the beatdown administered last night

Despite Froch not having any "names" on his record (a shot Reid doesn't count), he's been operating at a higher level than Lockett.

Lockett is a bum, Froch is not. This would be a good fight. I''d favour Pavlik to win but this is no gimme fight. Froch has a good chin and good power, and i'm not talking about the kind of power Lockett was adversited as having....you know knocking over a few low level palookas. They needed to say that about Lockett to sell a farce of a fight.

What's the point? What has Froch done to prove he deserves a shot at Pavlik, he's a solid B-/B level fighter but will get exposed horribly by Pavlik.

Calzaghe v Pavlik is a fight between two big names, two world champions and too elite level fighters, who wouldn't want to see that?

Actually i agree with the original threadster, don't get me wrong i would love to see a JC match, but a KO IMO is very unlikely.

A Pavlik Froch match would be similar to the Haye Enzo match, i think a KO would almost be guaranteed. It'll be a good fight.
