The 84'/85' version of Bramble wins this pretty cleanly in my opinion. I like O'Grady but to me he was a ***** below Bramble.
Mancini was all used up and fightings clowns by then. Not very good himself. The girl line I culled from an interview with Goody Petronelli
O'Grady is very underrated. Sean was a well rounded boxer who could punch. O'Grady's problem was that he turned pro at age 15 and his body basically broke down. He absorbed a lot of wear and tear on his body before it ever matured. After losing to Verderosa, O'Grady wrote an article for World Boxing (I think it was World Boxing) simply stating "all of a sudden I couldn't take a punch". O'Grady gets a lot of disrespect due to him acting so goofy on Tuesday Night Fights.
Sean O' Grady was a fine champion in his own right, his TKO 12 loss on Nov 1 1980 loss to then WBC World Lightweight Champion was very controversial, due to the clash of heads. But O'Grady redeemed himself with a unanimous decision win on April 12 1981 over Kronk fighter Hilmer Kenty, to take the WBA World Lightweight Title. Sean is a very relentless fighter, just the style needed to conquer a champion like Livingston Bramble, who conquered Ray Boom Boom Mancini for the WBA World Lightweight Title in 1984, and defended against Mancini in early 1985. Bramble has a peek a boo style defense keeping his long arms high against his face while tagging his opponents with combinations, while his opponent cannot penetrate his defense. This fight will look like the Edwin Rosario vs Livingston Bramble fight on Sept 21 1986. Sean is both aggressive and relentless, and can hit. He would smother Bramble, with body blows mean to bring down his defense. Sean, bloody comes on for a TKO 10 victory.
