Shocking event, UFC is dying as said before they desperately need new stars that's why Dana is so unhappy as he saw that Strickland could help in that manner & was mad at DDP for getting the nod. The whole event including prelims were bad, that women's match was a semi main event unbelievably sad.
I still don´t get what this means. Does the champion get extra points for being a champion? Is the scoring somehow different in championship fights?

It means you have to beat the champion convincingly. The benifit of the doubt goes to the champion. This is a very old tradition in boxing. Dana White himself said it should be the same in UFC.
