Juárez is arguably Moonsuree's best scalp of his WBC reign...including Oswaldo Novoa from whom Moonsuree lifted the belt. (Juárez is 1-0-1 vs. Novoa)

RJJ is a respectable 9-3 since the Green loss (never mind that he fought only four warm bodies in that span resulting in getting KTFO thrice and receiving a gift over Glazewski) and is returning to action in a fortnight, taking on former contender Rodney Glen "Rockin" Moore. Surely you remember him? Came up in the late 90's, racking up a 13-1-1 record before he fought Randy Griffin (and lost)... drew with Thomas Reid... split a pair with Donnell Wiggins... lasted the distance with Ding-A-Ling Wilson in a UD8 loss...

So, yeah. Reasonable opponent for a still perfectly in-the-mix legend.

Interestingly, he retired in '05 but started a comeback in 2012. It hasn't gone well. He's 0-5...but he did go eight with Andrey Fedosov. He didn't last even two with Murat Gassiev, though. :verysad

 

Man, is Saúl Juárez unlucky...


Had only he gotten to Novoa first (before Wanheng) he would've been the WBC straw champ.

Excellent record, 3-0-1 mark against El Confesor and Novoa, another good victory over Ceja, and just a couple of close losses to good fighters (and the stoppage loss was due to eye injury, against someone he already had dropped and was probably gong to beat otherwise)

As of this morning Boxrec actually listed hm as #1 at straw (and still haven't updated)

He's still a player. :good
