Imho fundora is improving. The fact that he is southpaw I think that doesnt help him to get the maximum benefit from his reach and height. His lack of heart is disturbing though, you cant be a top champion if you have no heart.
He needs a new trainer a guy with his dimensions shouldn't ever be lured into a brawl on the inside. How as a trainer can you have a fighter like him and not teach him how to fight tall? Same goes for that horrible trainer that Paul Williams had smh.
Hamzah Sheeraz is another fighter who is extremely tall for his division and fights the same way. It's honestly baffling that they don't fight tall and abuse their dimensions. Personally I think it's due to a lack of coaching talent right now and most coaches only able to teach one style of fighting.
While he's been there for the taking with anyone with a modicum of power and who places his punches well. I gotta disagree with you there. That punch was hard as ****. Here's a different angle of it. I doubt many aside from GGG could've taken a shot this flush right on the jaw and remained standing. This content is protected
I don't know much about Mendoza but from the little I've seen it looks like he packs a hefty wallop He knocked out Bananas Rosario in HL fashion too. Granted Bananas is made of glass, but the shot looked powerful This content is protected
It’s a reason PBC tried to match him soft until Charlo.. They were hoping with his popularity to make that a PPV fight and proceeded match him with Ocampo and Mendoza now it backfired
Fundora already lost to Jamontay Clark anyway. This is the reality check he needs to improve as a fighter.
I can't see it. I think he's reached his level. He won't get better unless he changes his style and that's something not many fighters can do.
That's a good, clean shot. Square on the jaw and he didn't see it coming. Fundora was completely open for that shot and that's the problem. Fundora threw a lazy uppercut from the bleachers and was countered.
Not sure where that bull**** narrative got started. Literally no one on that RBR had Clark winning. https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...n-fundora-vs-jamontay-clark-rbr.635571/page-7
Seeing the ringside version of the KO, it sounded like a gunshot when Fundora got hit the first time. Seemed less of a glass jaw problem than a defense/how do you get hit that clean while being that vulnerable problem to me. Can we merge this thread with the one of how he'd beat Hagler though?
