I don't agree with your points.

Pavlik was mentinoned one, or two times by Sauerland and the ARD but he's completely unknown in Germany. No way the fight would fill a big indoor arena like the Köln Arena (some 19,000 spectators), not to mention a football stadium. Take also into account that ticket prices are MUCH lower in Germany than in England or in the US.

I don't think we Germans would watch a fight in the middle of the night like the English or Welsh do, so that US TV could broadcast the fight at prime time. Finally, the ARD wouldn't pay much more for this fight that it does for a "normal" Abraham fight.

-> The fight wouldn't be held in Germany.

Problem in here: Neither Pavlik or Abraham fights are showcased in either man's country...only as of late, German TV picked up some fights from overseas (HBO).

I got confused when reading the title of this thread at first i thought Sylvester Stalone wants to make a move about Pavlik and then thought man this guy really wants to be a successful white boxer in real life.

Everybody wants Pavlik - Raul Marquez, the HBO Latino commentator said " I want to congratulate Kelly Pavlik on his big win over Jermain Taylor and I respect his attitude of being willing to fight all comers. Hopefully, he'll live up to those claims by fighting a true contender like me, and not one of those rookies out there like Sergio Mora and John Duddy. I respect those kids, but the've never fought any contender, they don't have the resume to deserve a title shot like I do, and they don't even want to fight me. If Kelly Pavlik wants to fight the best available contender, that's me." Duddy may be basically just a well-marketed potato can ( irish version of tomato can), but he is undefeated, and he did beat Yory Boy Campas, the same guy who ended Marquez' Jr Middleweight title reign a decade ago. Put Raul Marquez in there against Sylvester in an unmarketable slaughter and save Pavlik some work...

Duddy sold out the Kings Hall(over 5,000) , Belfast in his last fight and he would have been able to sell more than that if the venue was larger .
So to say Duddy doesn't have a following in European is untrue .

There are 3 Irish boxers that are well known in Ireland , Bernard Dunne , Andy Lee and John Duddy.........any of the 3 can rake in thousands of people for semi-important fights and for proper(such as European title) crowds of at least 8,500-10,000 .

However since The Point is being redeveloped at the moment(with the intention of improving its capacity to over 14,000) so there aren't that many venues suitable for boxing available .

Hopefully Abraham will come to USA med year and fight someone like Fulgencio Zuniga to set up a fight with Pavlik by the end of the year so the fight will be here in the USA:good as I don't think Arum will want Pavlik to fight in Germany:-( Now if I had my way Pavlik would be going to all the homelands of guys like Abraham,Sturm,Calzaghe,Kessler, and Bute to take them on there home tuff like Ali used too do:bbb
