Why do some people feel the need to root for the guy with the same skin color? WHO GIVES A ****. What are we living in the 1950's still? Grow the **** up.

People are more inclined to root on people of the same ethnicity.

 

I'm not. I root for black guys, philipinos, Peurto Ricans, white guys, it doesn't matter. I can understand national pride like when it comes to the Phillipines and Pacquiao, but racial pride? That's just childish.

So do I. All my fav fighters are puerto rican and black, but casual fans are going to be inclined to root for the people that look like them.

It's just a fact of life. We evolved that way for survival of our genes.

 

Mayweather is not popular in LA. As witnessed in the Laker playoff game he attended and was booed when shown on the screen. I witnessed it watching Mayweather-Mosley in one of LA's most popular sports bars (Yankee Doodles in Santa Monica). I couldn't believe in a mixed crowd of 500 of all races, men and women, only one lady clapped for Mayweather as he walked to the ring, and quite a number of boos.

 

Dude with the jheri curl went from rooting for Manny to rooting for Floyd.

 

I root for anyone who knocks out Elle Seckback.
