Hi everyone one just a quick question I want to ask. Are secondary world title belts for example Jacobs was recently in possession of the regular WBA title. So my question is, are such boxers considered to be world champions? And if so? How would history view and define this?

    Kind Regards.

Not by me and I doubt any serious boxing fans take them seriously. They have the same value to me as the intercontinental titles.

Does anyone care about WBC silver champions? Can you name one? WBA regular belt as well, did anyone care about Briggs/Oquendo are these guys even remotely relevant?

Thank you for your reply that is a fine response and is what I believe as well. They should scrap all this junk though it somehow dilutes the notion of a real champion.

    Its a matter of opinion.

From my understanding a WBA super champion is someone who has won two or more of the big four belts. He is considered an elite fighter of the division. The WBA regular champion is recognised as the WBA rankings champion. The interim champion is recognised as the no.1 contender.

Its all a bit unnecessary but facilitates more sanctioning fee's for the governing body.
