SEE how well Mayweather can take a punch

I have seen him fight then rewatched tape and been amazed at how many times he was actually caught, but played it off so deftly.

You have the annoying tendency of putting words into people's mouths.

 

He didn't take it well, he was VERY badly hurt and a younger, more active fighter might have taken him out. He REACTED to it well and skillfully, but that's not the same as taking it well.

Mayweather has a crackable chin and it's nearly cost him his 0 a couple times. If he gets caught like that against a better fighter than Corley or an ancient Mosley it's bad news. If Chico had managed to get to him with one of those it would have been game over.

Exactly, a younger mosley would have surely taken him out or dropped him in that round. It was sad watching a shot Shane paw at Floyd and pull his punches while huffing for air only in round 2.

If you watch all throughout floyds career you can tell he's always bothered by getting hit. You can see it in his reaction and his face, he just doesn't like getting hit, almost looks scared sometimes. Most fighters dont have the benefit of amazing defense / physical talent and do get hit often in fights, but Floyd doesn't. You cant expect him to have a great chin when he never gets hit. Part of having a good chin is conditioning.

 

I saw a vid where he shows how he prepares himself to take hits. Trains hard I think Floyd is not given the credit he deserves.

 

Your comment is void I don't think any boxer enjoys getting punched. It was sad seeing pac bearly able to land on a old shane. Despite the kd pac got on shane Floyd did way better against shane then pac did.

 

Exactly what does this character string imply:

I don't think he has an exceptional chin. He's been hurt off punches from Corley, Castillo, Judah and, most significantly, Mosley.

Maybe my understanding of English is off, but prefacing your lack of respect for his chin then listing Mosley in company of:

Corley - 38% KO (50% at time of facing Mayweather)
Castillo - 72%
Judah - 56%
Mosley - 70%

Only leads one to a conclusion that Mosley and the other guys don't hit particularly hard as you weren't impressed that they rocked him.

Corely is the only one who doesn't belong in a discussion on punching ability and vetting a man's chin. If you want to take it there, what do you think of Cotto's chin?

yeah I thought he would too, but he did a great job at immediately grabbing up Mosley and trying to smother his attack. I don't like Mayweather much, but if you like boxing you gotta respect him.
