    According to boxrec KO% 38.6

But he's got enough power to put a 17 pound heavier Cotto on ***** street in their fight.

He can take a good punch, but what is more important is how he reacts when he gets hit, or when thing aren't going his way. He never loses his focus or cool. A lot a fighters are great when things are going their way. The truly great ones don't lose it when things are not going as planed. Mayweather is one of the great ones.

Floyd has a good chin, but not a great one. Sure, Mosely hurt him in the first round, but this is boxing, big shots get through from time to time. Its how the fighter comes back after that shot that makes or breaks it for me.

I'd say average for a boxer of his caliber. Good would be pushing it but acceptable.
    Beyond that it's pure nuthugging.

What is undeniable tho is how GREAT he retains his composure whenever a big one gets through,

That has nothing to do with his chin. That's defense and ring IQ.. no one is denying he has a great defense, but he doesnt have a great chin , at least he never proved it. There aren't many defensive fighters who are known for great chins anyway. That's not the way it works in boxing. Why do you think the guys with the best chins generally have a pourous defense. Or get hit alot in general. It's conditioning. Why do you think all those mexican fighters have great chins. Again, conditioning. They go to war, they take punches, and it becomes a normal thing. Not so much with defensive fighters. It's nothing to get butthurt about.

One thing this video showed to me was how Mayweather has developed and matured in the ring. He got hit a lot more in his younger days and has tighten up his defence. Also, it showed he got caught with his hands down a few times, something you don't see anymore too often.

A weak chin is a moot point if a fighter has excellent recovery skills. What good is bringing up his "weak chin" if he can't be finished? I keep hearing assumptions when someone like Juan Manuel Marquez gets knocked down. Suddenly he has a weak chin! That's like saying a vampire has a weakness just because a bullet can actually penetrate his skin. Vitali has a superb chin and he should be commended but someone like Marquez can win just as many wars for you. Like Marquez, Mayweather has tremendous recovering ability.
