He hasn't challenged a top level fighter, he challenged Zab.

He's a world class fighter, but far from perfect. He does fight in spurts, holds his hands high and stays stationary, and isn't a real big puncher.

He has to capitalize while he can no doubt. Yet some would try to pick a matchup, he said he wants "To be the best, so i have to fight the best". If there's a silver lining, imo?? That was it:good

IMO, Clottey makes a viable opponent for a guy like Cintron or Willams, though I dont see him winning.

Williams will win a shutout UD and Cintron will spark him early. Clottey appears to hit very hard due to his handspeed and his physical stature, but he's an extremely mediocre puncher and cannot crack Cintron or Williams in the slightest.

Cintron will pop that right hand down the guard and end it.

    Total agreement:good

IMO, it's an acceptable matchup for one or the other while waiting on the BIGGER FISH, PBF vs Hatton and SSM vs Cotto. According to clottey?/ He'd take it.

The more I think about it, I'd like Cintron vs Clottey and Judah vs Margarito to happen and winners get winners. If Marg somehow beat Judah, Cintron could the erase the stain of the Marg loss. Oh well, i'm getting way ahead with it I guess:lol:

If Cotto didn't beat out what's left of Judah, then I feel he KO's Margarito, who was buzzed by both Clottey significantly and at times by Williams, the speed difference being enough to set that up.

Cintron will KO Clottey if that bout happens, Judah/Cintron is intriguing. Judah has 5 losses, but it's a shame that people totally write him off when he has certain stylistic advantages over guys they overrate. Judah won't be a champion again, but he's still a top 10 fighter and can still beat quite a few WW's.

I've always said that Clottey is too stationary and sloppy for cotto, and any other of the top dogs in the division right now.
He is good, but not THAT good

Clottey's an ordinary contender, nothing more. I was never particularly impressed with him to begin with, so it's not like I'm surprised by the fact that he didn't look so great against this guy. It's about what I would have expected.

I think he can get one of the belts at 147 or 154.

He really needs to go to 154. He generally weighs 170 on fight night at 147.

    clottey is good imo

he wouldve beaten margo or at least run him very very close if he hadnt broken his hand. the first 5 rounds were more or less a clean sweep for him and he was unlucky

he battered corrales, the only reason corrales didnt go sooner was pure heart

he is very speedy and has decent power and ok heart. i think he represents a fairly big challenge for cotto because of his speed and i think he would beat zab based on attitude and the ability to just stalk him down over the rounds as zab loses interest

mosley is more or less the same but better though so if cotto takes mosely he takes clottey

Clottey is a good fighter. Good but not worldclass which means he would not win against Cotto or Mayweather or Mosley or Margarito or Williams or or or....

Clottey won't the distance with Cotto...Flores' got the better of Clottey in many exchanges on the inside and Clottey slaps with his left hook alot...i'm pretty sure Judah would destroy Clottey too...
