The only fighter from Wlads era that's undeniably at the top is Povetkin. And I think he (along with Wlad, Vitali and maybe Haye) is one of the only fighters from that era that could do very well in any era.
He was a stand out a fighter in a weaker era imo.
So him having success in this era isn't proof that Wlads era was stronger, as he wasn't representative of the overall quality of that era.

I agree with your point about Wlads consistency.
When you look at all the champions in history who underestimated their opponents and weren't dedicated to the sport and how it resulted in them losing to guys they should have beaten easily, it shows how great and dedicated guys like Wlad, Louis, and all the other long reigning dominant champions who took on everyone, were.

Your wlad was never undisputed champion and never beat a real good fighter. These type opinions are disgrace.

Povetkin powering down the Dillian train with one punch,
Ruiz slapping AJ around and making him quit,
Fury making Wilder look like a useless dosser,

It's an easy argument to make that these three fights have severely damaged the credibility of the current HW era, and bolstered the K-Bro era.

If you watched heavyweight boxing before the year 2000 you would know how incredibly weak wlads era was and there would be zero reason to dive any deeper to try to argue the contrary. Don't blame wlad. He would have been formidable in any era in the sports history but it is what it is

Povetkin was not really that much better than Haye, Ibragimov, Chagaev, Peter, Sanders, Thompson, Brewster etc...
He became more famous in the current era.
    He would outbox SNV

He's way underrated - and for reasons I and others have posted many years ago.

While many on this site think 1970s era HWs were the best (for those same biased "reasons").
Nostalgia, racial, and nationalistic emotions blind many ppl.

If the Klitschkos weren't in it, it would have been perceived as strong.

If Vitali had stayed retired and let Wlad dominate, it would have been percieved as decent.

It is perceived as poor because you had two tremendously talented brothers, each far larger than their best competition, splitting the field.

Could Povetkin, Haye, Ibragimov, Chagaev, Adamek, Gomez, Pulev, and even Peter have made a bid slash in smaller eras of the past? Hell yes.

Could these guys have set it off against each other? Yes again.

Did they make good fights against the brothers Klit? No. No they didn't.

I think prime Wlad would beat everyone now except Fury, although I also think he could beat Fury on the right night because of his skill and power. Fury gives us a clue as to how good Wlad was because he explained how difficult Wlad was for him to fight in the aftermath when the mind games were over. Due to Wlad's disrespect, Fury responded with Wlad being an easy fight, stiff bum robot etc., but there was a brief period where he confirms Wlad was the most skilled and hardest hitting opponent, basically, and the one he had to give the most respect to in the ring.

Wlad was hated largely for the wrong reasons (anti Euro/E.Euro) and that's why his era is claimed to be weak.

But ability aside, Wlad does deserve to be hated. He's absolutely fake and there are copious accounts of how dodgy the contracts and fight circumstances were. If the Fury's weren't streetwise schemers themselves, they would have been compromised by Team Klitschkos cheating antics too. On top of that, Wlad's grappling was out of control, the Povetkin fight being the pinnacle of that. To cap it off, he's in love with AJ to this day.

    you forgot about
    Chagaev
    Brock
    Ibragimov
    Thompson
    Mercer
    McCline
    Chambers
    Rachman
    Sanders

    Now to top it off

Whyte just got blasted out by Povetkin,
Ortiz never beat anyone worth a damn and his power disappeared after he was popped for steroids.
Usyk is a cruiser who has what one win at heavyweight you including him shows how thin the division is right now.
Wilder is the modern Primo Carnera with similar results when he finally stepped up.
    Parker is meh
    Ruiz is meh

I’m a Fury fan but with only one live opponent and a 2 year PED suspension in that time, he has a lot more to do. If he beats AJ, Usyk and one of the young prospects before he sails into the sunset, then he at least dominated his era.

Fury never tested dirty for a PED for a fight in his life.
